Root Help with flashing gingervillain after starburst?

I'm on starburst right now for data2sd. I wanna change to gingervillain 2.1. This is the first time I'm flashing for the second time. What all should I do? I did a nandroid backup..then what? Also what about data2sd?

You would need to do a full wipe.

If you really want data2sd, you'll need to follow the data2sd thread by sibere on xda

" A rooted Rom with Busybox and init.d support, and which has a kernel supporting ext4 is an absolute requirement for using Data2SD."

Does gingervillain have all those? :O

I used it for a long while during the early days. Was very laggy. performance hugely hindered. Also data loss was a huge risk as AOSP roms do not unmount /data cleanly.

Its supposed to be better now but it just isn't worth the hassle.

I don't run anything on SD-EXT anymore. not even a2sd+

I still stick to a2sd+, because it never fails me and works across many ROMs.
Got all the apps I wanted and still 100MB free. :)
