Root Help with O2 debrand

splatty

Newbie
Hi,

I have a desire that is on O2 and running 2.2. I would like to go to the stock version of Froyo but unable to find an RRU that will allow me :( I have downloaded 2.10 but as the O2 RRU is 2.14 I get bootloader errors, signature errors when trying to flash it.

Any advice please on what I can do to get stock ?

TIA

That won't help - the only way to install the unbranded version is to downgrade back to 2.1 (unbranded) and then upgrade from there.

Downgraded to 2.1 and then perform a upgraded OTA via Wifi. Am now running on a shiny unbranded desire apart from no mobile internet :( I have a monthly contract with O2 so if anybody knows what I need to do to get it back that would be great pretty please :D

Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > O2 UK(mobile.o2.co.uk)

Server, port, user and password etc for mobile.o2.co.uk and are the MMS settings different please ?

I just click it, but I'm not on a Sense ROM, it may be different.

A quick Google search tells me that these two should be set up:

Mobile Web:
Name: o2
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: web
Password: web
MCC: 234
MNC: 10

MMS:
Name: MMS
APN: wap.o2.co.uk
Username: o2wap
Password: password
Server: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMSC: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMS Proxy: 193.113.200.195
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 243
MNC: 10

You need 2 apns. One for net, one for mms.

For net
APN=mobile.o2.co.uk
username and password= O2web
MCC=234
MNC=10
APN Type= default,supl

MMS

APN=wap.o2.co.uk
Username=o2wap
Password=password
MMSC=http://mmsc.mms.o2.oc.uk:8002
MMS Proxy=193.113.200.195
MMS port=8080
MCC=234
MNC=10
APN type=mms

You should now have 2 apn's. One has a green dot when selected, but the mms should not have this functionality if created correctly.

if you want uncompressed web browsing and images then you can use
username: bypass
password: bypass

be warned tho on gprs and edge its slow as hell
