Root help with samsung droid

Please someone who is a tech guy that can explain step by step how to root my phone and fix problems and errors.
Problems/Errors:
Internet stalls and goes dormit at random times
Clear ram and it will drain the battery in an hour
Changes settings by itself
wont viberate when i get text
during phone calls screen flashes black when i try to use the keypad
video calls loses sound both my vioce and theirs

I am nowhere close to being smart with technology. I can pretty much just get around but dont know what a lot stuff means with progam settings. So if someone could help me it would great.

I have made a series of videos on rooting, roming, and backing up.

The root video is an older method, but still works just fine and sets you up to ROM. I recommend ROMing as your phones performance will improve greatly.
