Root Help with tutorial

Your in the same boat I was in with my brick (last year in April I bricked my first V and had to go out and get another it was so thoroughly bricked). Finally saw that there was enough software and knowledge to give un-bricking it a try.

Try the KP500 method. Even though everything is lined out it still a functioning guide with all download site's working. Go Here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...soft-bricked-optimus-v-official-fw-kp500.html

If that doesn't work, hold off on doing the LGNPST method (this it what I eventually had to use) and it seem to wipe the Emergency mode off of the flash partition it was on, and swaps to many keys around no matter what ROM you install after.

Menu button is the home button, Home button is the menu, no emergency mode,
but at least the buttons seem to be normal in the recovery's flash partition.

With no emergency mode to fall back on, if you mess up, you will never be able to use it as a working phone/computer again.

I'm working on trying to see if I can get it into fastboot mode and straighten the e-mode out with out causing me to perma brick the phone.

Need to read up on it some more, ask around some more, etc., etc.

If you do decide to use the LGNPST method you will have to re-establish your PRL, MEID, and MIN. This requires you to figure out what your MSL is before even going any further. CDMA Workshop no longer has a free version that will allow you to do this, but another old member/dev has stumbled upon a utility that not only figures it out but allows you to easily change your PRL.
Without the MEID you will not be able to use the market or any other app market as they all require your MEID

Al this ^requires a great deal of time and gnashing of teeth, not to mention no e-mode
If you just have to have your phone working and are willing to risk not having an e-mode and possible perma brick let me know. I can point you to all the Guides and Utilities to do so.

but here is the problem it wont detect on my pc.

EDIT EDIT. Flashed the S firmware and now the home is the menu and vice a versa, normal e-mode button combo doesn't work (same thing with VM's ZV9 firmware, but the ZV9 wouldn't let me do squat so I reverted back to the S firmware). Keys are normal in the recovery flash partition though. Thought I'd see if that held true for fastboot as well.

getsuga121: Mine wouldn't either. It would only show the "safely remove hardware" icon when connected to the PC.
 
it doesnt detect it only in emode can you give me some guides i could d the software thing that you gave me link for but i dont have a charged battery :( Please gimme guides XD
 
You have got to figure out how to get that battery charged up. Do you know anybody with a LG Optimus V, M, S, or T that will allow you to swap battery's or let you use their phone to charge up yours?

Where is say's to use the CDMA workshop to figure out your MSL, It wont work any more. Watch this How to get Msl from lg optimus V (open source =cool ) - YouTube and download from the link provided. It will also allow you to change you PRL back to 61007.
let me find where the PRL file is at.
 
You need to try this:
Let the battery totally drain dead, dead. Pull battery and hold power button fro 5 sec.
Re-install battery. Plug USB cable into PC. Very carefully insert USB cable into the phone only far enough to keep it from falling out, but not enough to allow it to apply power.
Hold down BACK+CAMERA+VOLUME DOWN buttons all at the same time.
Now you need to push POWER and insert the USB cable the rest of the way, all at the same time.

This is a bit tricky, but can be done with practice. It's probably easier if your double jointed.
 
There are two way's to get into e-mode. The normal way and the one I just posted. The one I posted works if you are having problems getting into e-mode the normal way, but might help with getting you PC to at least show "This Device will perform faster",with the funky icon (this is how you know for sure that your PC is seeing your phone in e-mode),even if it isn't showing the "safely remove hardware" icon.

Sorry Phatninja55, Looked at to many site and too many guides in a very short span of time. It was in fact not your guide but one I had seen on another site for using the LGNPST to unbrick. It was the only thing that worked, sort of. I got a long way to go to get everything straightened out.

EDIT: I have an e-mode again and buttons are back to normal. Yeah!

If you can use the KDZ updater and get past the unpacking files part with no errors, I don't think you have much of a problem. It would have told you right from the start if it couldn't detect detect your phone.

Try deleting the LG USB drivers. Then re-install them again. Once their installed reboot your computer to make sure it will install the two other drivers. Then plug in your phone while putting it in e-mode

Download the The KP500 stuff and give it a try.

I know your stress, I went through a lot of stress the first time my first V bricked, and I went thru it with it again just this weekend thru today.
