Help with Yellow Triangle

13neo

Newbie
Please help as I am extremely confused.
I have a new SG2. I did not root.
Everytime I restart my phone I see an Yellow Triangle with exclamation mark.
Now, as I understand, everyone who gets the triangle has rooted the phone.

Is there something wrong with my SG2?

Thanks.

if you have a yellow triangle you must be running a custom ROM /kernal

to get rid of this

download odin if you dont already have it entract it and open it
goto this page [25.07.2011][CF-Root v4.1] KE2/7/8, KF1/2/3/4, KG1/2/3 - su+bb+CWM4 - xda-developers
download a cf root kernal (the latest one will be ok )
once downloaded make a copy of it and on 1 copy extract it so you have a zimage
put that zimage on your phones sd card not your external one

ok so open odin then put your phone in download mode vol- middlebutton power connect usb from phone to computer wait til it says added press pda and find the cfroot*****.tar that you downloaded press start wait til complete

now find an original stock kernal (cant find link sorry )
open odin again select pda and find the stock kernal you downloaded
boot into download mode again vol- middlebutton power
click start wait to finish and unplug

now coming to the bit where you extracted the cf root kernal to a zimage
find the clockworkmod app
select flash kernal and it will show the zimage u put onto the phones sd card
i will say this once more dont put it on external sd
flash the kernal and your're done

when booting you wont see yellow triangle

now if you wish to flash another kernal without the triangle appearing again heres what you do

download cust kernal for eg ninphetamine 2.0.2
once downloaded extract to a zimage again put on PHONES SD CARD NOT EXTERNAL (LOL) open the clockwork app again flash

hey presto no yellow triangle

I will have to read your post a couple of times more to understand!!!

Thanks anyway. But my question is should I try to remove the triangle? Is there anything wrong with the handset?

yeah as slug said the triangle is just basically telling you that you are not running stock..

i only removed triangle so i could add a custom splash screen

if you mean you want to flash custom ROM !!!! yes you will get triangle but only on splash screen not notification bar

it is of no importance to get rid of the triangle . only if you want a custom splash screen

your're not exactly going to see the splash screen that often . well unless u like the look of it :)

edit : off topic . slug is there any reason why my sig will only show up on some posts and not all of them

Yeah.... I don't like it so I switched it off. :D <=== j/k

The real answer is that the forums are set up to only display users' sigs once per page, to maximise space for actual posts.
