Careful, They're sharp!!
I did a nand before flashing GSB 1.8.1 then flashed 1.8.1 without flashing cache2cache. After everything synced and I did my home screen the way I wanted it I went back into recovery but didn't do a nand because I have others to go back if needed then did a full wipe and tried to restore a backup and get this error "run 'nandroid-mobile.sh restore' via adb!" with any backups. This is the first time since I rooted to ever get an error. So I just rebooted and it loaded GSB 1.8.1 back and I have to reset everything. Why the error.

How much battery do you have left? Amon's Recovery will not let you restore if your battery level is too low (I think 20%?)

FYI,

If an error occurs when using Amon_RA, the exact cause of the error is almost always reported in the "recovery log". Not only that, but in the "other" menu in Amon_RA, there is an option to "copy the recovery log to the SD card." That allows you to save it for later review, or, what the heck: by using the "MS-USB toggle" after the copy to sd, you could look at the file on your PC without even ending the current Amon_RA boot.

Note that you need to copy the log to the SD card in the same session because it gets overwritten on new boots of the recovery.

Is the "recovery log" in a folder in file manager? So if I'm reading your post right the recovery log has by now been overwritten?

When the recovery is running, the recovery log is normally kept at /cache/recovery/log.

That menu item in Amon_RA copies it to /sdcard/recovery.txt (or similar); it is just a plain text file.

Yeah, the copy in the /cache/recovery folder is probably gone now.

30% ;)

What should normal battery temps be and what is considered too high?

When my Eris is freshly turned on, my temp is 28 degrees (C). When I charge it, it will slowly warm up to 38 or 39 degrees, but then drop back down to the mid to low 30s after being fully-charged. I used to have my setCPU temp threshold set to about 43 degrees (probably very conservative, but hey, I didn't want my little guy melting on me ;)).

Oh, I also have the black silicone case that I keep it in, but it really holds in the heat and I usually remove it from there before charging.

Cheers!

I have mine in a black silicone case as well but I rarely take it out. I'll need to look up the (C) numbers. Sorry I'm still old school as far as weights and measurements.;)

lol, just type this in to a Google search: "28 degrees celsius to fahrenheit" (82.4 ;)).

Ain't Google cool?

30 is hot, 20 is nice. 10 is cool, 0 is ice. ;)

(30 = 86F, 20 = 68F, 10 = 50F, 0 = 32F).

Back in early January (I think...this last couple of months has been a blur :p) I was watching an English Premiere League soccer match during their big cold snap. Many of the games were canceled during the cold and extreme (for them) snow accumulation, but one of the games that was played the announcers said it was 6-below .

Now, I've played when it was 19F and in the snow, but 6-below sounded pretty cold. Then, they re-iterated that it was 6-below Celsius! (that's -21 Fahrenheit without the windchill, ouch!).

*sigh*. I remember now that I once told somebody that I thought it was 40% and you corrected me then, too.

Just average my answers, folks. One of these days I will regress to the mean.

-6C is +21F. You've played in worse. Englishmen are wimps. ;) (So says the New Englander who ran 20 miles in 5 below [F].)

lol...that's pretty good re. averaging the answers (I like that :)).

Doh!, thanks for correcting me...I mentally added the minus-sign cause I thought it was colder! lol...I lived in Heidelberg, Germany back in the early '70s and had to deal with the distance and dollar conversions, but I guess I never really "got" how to do the temperature conversions correctly! :D

I can't pick on my Brit soccer mates--they were always the ones who only wore their jerseys and shorts during really cold or rainy games when the rest of us had long-sleeves, headbands, gloves, and sometimes sweatpants (when the refs allowed them). They just shook their heads at us and said that it was typical English weather and that us Yanks were wimps ;). Its all about perspective, I guess.

Cheers!

I just went in and changed mine to 45C.
