Root help

Treat your phone as a computer because that's what it is essentially. It has files and folders that can be navigated. Most phones come stock with some sort of folder app installed. Many ways of deleting files either through countless apps or off the SD directly.
 
Same thing mrpnut said! Do what he said if you prefer Root Explorer.
If you prefer ASTRO then this is for you..

Use ASTRO File manager:

1: Navigate to "_ExternalSD"
2: Click "clockworkmod"
3: Click "backup"
BOOM! There will be all your backups, they all have the dates you backed up your phone.

Tip: Leave the recent ones ;)
