Help HELP!

I have Gnex, that will not get text messages. The carrier is Sprint and i have been on the phone with them all week. I have a old photon that i switched from to the Nexus and the old phone works fine and get messages all day long. I switch to the nexus and i get everything but texting, Sprint tells me that is a issue with google voice. Is that true, and is there any fix for it.

What does Google voice have to do with carrier texting? Unless you setup your Google voice account with your mobile number instead of with a separate number?

i had a google voice account at one time, but i deleted the account,Even after that i still do not get texts. I have hard reset the phone and it does not fix the issue

I would try calling them again. this doesn't sound right. ...are you not using google voice on the Photon as well? If so then GV isn't the culprit.

no the photon does not have google voice, but it was an option to download if i wanted it. The nexus already has it built in

That sounds like an issue with sprint. I have a gnex on Verizon and use Google voice for voice mail and have no problems receiving texts.

they tell me its not their problem, i can either buy another phone or add a line.

It comes preloaded on the phone, but if you have never set it up then it can not be Google Voice. I would try deleting the app (to make Sprint happy) and a factory reset. Make sure all of the data that you can is backed up first.

i can't delete the app, it only gives me the option to deactivate, in which case i do that and the problem still persist

If you have never used the app on that phone, I am currious how Sprint can blame the problem on it. Have you tried going into a Sprint store and having them look at the issue? They will most likely want to do a factory reset though.

i have taken it to 2 different sprint stores and none of their techs can figure it out. They say everything on the phone is correct but yet they can't figure the problem out. I have reset the phone several times and that does not fix the issue.

Go into your google voice settings VIA PC see if theres anything tweaking it out or remove your Number all together, sprint has had issues with Forwarding to 3rd party apps for a little while, i have Boost and it tweaks out sometimes as well.
