Okay, so I just traded with some random person on craigslist my iPhone 4 for this HTC evo v 4g and when I went to activate it, it wont let me because its still activated under her account. I called customer service and they said I need her pin number. What do I do?

Call her. You could have sold iPhone 4 and get cash and have money for new phone and have some left over. Anyway unlike eBay with craiglist the only person you can deal with is her. Get in contact with her anyway possible and tell her your problem.

Would a factory reset of the phone undo all of that? I would try that first, and see if you can activate after that!

Otherwise, my other suggestion would also be to get a hold of her and ask! as narutoninjakid mentioned!

No a factory reset won't help because Virgin has the meid tied to another account, as Narutonin pointed out your only option is to get the pin from the seller.

all is good.. I was able to contact her and she finally de activated it

but not im having another problem.. Im in the process of rooting my phone and im getting an error:device not found when i try adb reboot bootloader
