I see that we are on the same page on this...I recall we were both thinking about getting the G2X last wk...after this announcement I'm definitely holding out and wait for this instead of the G2X. Cant' wait!:D

yeah i've always wanted a vanilla android device. but, with everything under the hood of the Sensation, i'll be content with just Sense for the first time ever. the new lock screen is awesome. so much added functionality there and it's slick.

Im with a Nexus S right now and was going to hold off until an N3 (already rumored), but this phone looks to be super f'n sexy. Might get it, then sell it when the N3 comes out

Any chance it will be provided by at&t other than t-mobile in the US?

No word yet but from what folks tell me that I've talked to doubtful. Here at the House I can get A&T, Sprint and Verizon well but for some odd reason no T-Mobile. Have to walk about 60 to the intersection so no go there.

is it a 3D phone like the evo 3D? if it is not I would just wait for a 3D Nexus 3 :D
Can someone explain to me what use 3D is on a phone? That's one of the reasons I am not considering the EVO 3D. I don't want to pay money for a feature I won't use.

The features I do care about, dual core processor, 4g capability, high quality display are on the Sensation. Plus Sense 3.0 which looks cool. Might be the only phone I would not use an alternate launcher on.

Not being at all sarcastic - but not really.

Fans of 3D will eat this feature up; people who can take it or leave it might get it to noodle with, knowing it'll never really be used a lot; people that don't care for 3D movies, pictures, vids, or games won't get it.

It's like a vehicle with a lift kit and a trailer hitch - if you don't want that sort of thing, you don't buy it, others will.

I really like this phone. And to be honest sense 3.0 looks amazing ..but im really concerned about battery life..I end up getting rid of any htc phone because of it..its a huge deal killer for me..what have you guys heard about real world battery life.?

This phone is bad-a...but its on the network thats losing customers left and right...boo. I would love this phone, but I'm not switching to T-mobile to get it.

:( was considering between replacing my very recently stolen captivate (aaarrrggg!!) with another one or switching to the HTC Inspire???? however, I also just read up on this phone, the HTC Sensation, which sounds totally amazing, but unfortunately I am an AT&T customer. No chance of them carrying it anytime soon I presume?? And if this phone won't be an option, does anyone have an opinion on Captivate vs. Inspire?

A few days ago I tested the G2x on the 4G T-Mobile network and it took 6 seconds to load "The New York Times" website. On my iPhone 3GS on 3G AT&T network the same website was still loading after 40 seconds and I quit counting. Personally I am looking for an actual 4G network whereas AT&T is just going to start rolling out real 4G at the end of June!!

Waiting for HTC Sensation 4G and I am switching my OS and my carrier!!

I just posted in the G2x forum about giving it up after 3 tries today. After weighing a bunch of options I figured that I'll just wait the 2 or 3 weeks for the Sensation, and go back to my MT4G. (Which in comparison to the G2x, by no other reason than it works 100% of the time, every time, it's a much better phone than the G2x) The Sensation, while not my ideal phone, (Multi-core, Vanilla Android, SAMOLED or comparable screen, 1Gb RAM, Removable SD card, 16-32gb internal, Non HDMI Video Output etc.) it's about as close as I'm getting till the N3 comes out. That said, T-mobile reps in NYC are attending HTC Sensation training next Monday, and I'm getting a hands on Tuesday evening with one. I'll report back as soon as I'm done.

I have already signed up.. HTC Sensation | New 4G Android Phone| T-Mobile
This is the replacement for my myTouch 3G that has done me well for the last (almost) 2 years.. I am sticking it out with T Mobile who has also been good to me. I am not concerned about the merger. I have doubts that it will go through, and if it does then I will live with my gamble.. I can't really blame those that want to jump ship, but if you have been happy with them then it is probably a year or year and a half too early.. but to each their own.

+1

i'm with you

i really like TMo - i'm on the month-to-month plan (off contract) w/ unlimited everything (yeah.. unlimited such that it is, in great big air quotes)

but i'm grandfathered into that plan so ATT will have to honor it - we'll see how the (proposed) ATT+TMo network works

i don't think the merger will go through either (crossing fingers) - but if it does, by the time it does, i'll have gotten my full use out of the S-4G

by then sprint will have their LTE built out and a new line-up of good top-end smartphones (EVO 4G is kickass - would jump now and get that one if i "had" to but i don't so i wont) - so i'll probably stick w/ ATT long enough to gauge my next move and then make the jump
