Here they go again...

Not going to Happen! If you think this will go that far your crazy. If anything this is all making Samsung very very popular ...

All I gotta say is that I will never buy an Apple pruduct again, Steve Jobs wouldn't condone this behavior ...He'd rage war on Samsung by developing the most kick ass iPhone ever created. However the morons at Apple are going to ruin they're coolness and innovative factor by going after a company that is just bringing better stuff to the market at the moment.
Yep, sales for the S3 were up last week infact selling out in a lot of stores, they made a huge surge after the verdict. Other news sources were reporting that sites like craiglist & ebay saw a major increase in the sale of all the phones on Apples ban list with the thought that the american comsumers were running scared, I'm thinking those people aren't running scared, I'm thinking they are UPGRADING to the s3 and the Note2 ;)

The problem with this verdict is that it was made by a federal court. It is very difficult for even the supreme court to overrule the verdict, all they can really do is affect the fines. Unless they do as was stated earlier and change the rules... If they determine the current laws to be inadequate for current times and change them, they can mark the trial as a mistrial and rehear the case in the supreme court.

But I am not a lawyer or law student, so who knows

Never been an apple fan, had an itouch, it was ok, just too small like their phones is/was my biggest requirements issue. Other than that I just can't stand the apple monopoly. My wife and I like our S3s, serves the purpose and then some. Couple months from now I'm sure there will be something even better, don't really care, happy with what I have for now. Will be interesting to see the final outcome pending court rulings, appeals, etc.

Samsung are Apple's major competition in the smart phone market and they're constantly gaining and beating Apple in places. So what do they do? Instead of INNOVATING to beat the competition they've resorted to SUEING because they don't want good competition.

Agree completely. I was really happy with my S2 and didn't see the big advantage to the S3, but couldn't beat upgrading for $25.

I happily jumped off the Apple ship and converted to Samsung (laptop, Tab 2, & S3)...and will never go back.

Ever since Steve Jobs passed away, Apple has become a big bully and is acting like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum. I don't think, as another poster wrote, Mr. Jobs would have ever condoned this behavior.

Unfortunately, The jury pool in the Apple vs Samsung case came right out of silicon valley where they suck the Apple tit big time! And unless Samsung can get a change of venue, all the rest of the suits will be judged by a jury of Apple's peers!

Steve Jobs actually started it and this is what he wanted all along. It was probably worse when he was alive, the lawsuits he wanted are just now getting in the courts.

Well, my wifes phone is due at the end of October, wonder if I can get Verizon to upgrade her to the S3 now since Apple wants to do this garbage.

And that's a large market lost... You think this is no big deal? I guess we'll all be forced to buy Apple phones with their closed IOS, restricted everything, and we'll all move on eh? This could destroy the whole Android system in ALL phones and we'll be stuck with microsofts garbage...

Unless Apple's lawyers are good enough to beat anti-trust laws and create a monopoly, there is no way I will have an iphone. I'd rather use a flip phone. It used to be because I just didn't have a taste for their products.

Now it's a matter of principal. No way will I buy and Apple anything.

Agree, Apple has been suing for years. They have just now started winning majorly. And Jobs was at the head of it. While they mislead people about how much reception the iphone was getting (bars) and told people it was user error the way they held their phone when it dropped calls.

Jobs was cutthroat.

fact is this, the american law will side with apple as it is an american company and if they fear its industry is getting harmed then it will do what it can to protect is as it is bringing in billions upon billions of revinue and if that revinue stream shrinks then it affects america directly

corrupt as it may seem, this is why they hired a jury forman to corrupt the case

Just go on craigslist every other thread is a wtt my iPhone 4s for galaxy s3 lol they actually think someone is dumb enuf to do that trade

Arent most of Apple's products made in China using parts from Korea?

Alarmist much?

why don't samsung say f you apple all them chips you have in your iphones. go find them somewhere else from now on.

Because Apple is the largest consumer of semiconductors in the world.

If Samsung refuses to sell Apple chips, Apple will just shift elsewhere and Samsung would be out of tens of billions of dollars in revenue.

If you're Samsung, do you really want Apple's business in the hands of Texas Instruments, Intel, Tohshiba, Qualcomm and STMicroelectronics?

Samsung's not stupid, and they sure as hell don't want to give their competition a golden ticket.

Looks like I am going to upgrade my wifes Droid X very soon with the SGS3. Apple wants it blocked along with the Galaxy Note before trial even begins. Apple is really pissing me off now. I hope Apple gets kicked in the pants in appeals court.

Apple better start looking to purchase their hardware elsewhere real soon. Or I think Samsung will be the real winner with all this stupid patent lawsuit crap after they make Apple pay dearly for their hardware to recoup the lawsuit damages. As somone else stated previously these Apple patents are ludicrous. Patenting shapes and such..REALLY? I realize the jurors thought the Samsung emails were damning but honestly you can't tell me that Apple and every other company in the world doesn't look at their competition's product to see what works and what doesn't and where it can be improved on. I agree if it is a legitimate patent then company A should have to pay to use said technology but Apples patents are plain stupid. They probably file thousands of patents a week. I love both companies but this lawsuit doesn't do anything but HURT everyone involved including the consumers.

The upshot to this is that:

1) Judge Koh can just say no to the motion. Which she has done in the past (the GS3 specifically). She told Apple they have to file an individual lawsuit for new devices being added when they tried to add the GS3 to their GNex lawsuit, and that would make it so they have to wait until after their current set date of December.

2) Even if it does get added, the ban set date is in December, plenty of time to adjust what Apple could actually add to the ban list.

This Christmas shopping season should be interesting.

It's not Judge Koh this time, it's in a different Californian court apparently.

As far as I understand it, the Gnex lawsuit doesn't come to trial until 2014 (different trial, different court, different judge). By that time, the GS3 will be several generations back.

Apple is looking to ban the new devices on the list before the start of the trial. Which they have done before and won. Even with the Tab 10.1

This is the scary part. By having the devices banned before the trail will hurt samsung and the trial itself will be about the new devices they just banned violating patents. All of this Apple has already done and won with the first trial.

Most know that by the time trial would start the SGS3 would be long gone and updated by new devices. So trying to get it banned during trial would be stupid.

Edit: The wifi version of the Tab 10.1 is banned. not the cellular version. Which Apple is now trying to add the cellular version.

The real problem here is the US Patent and Trademark Office issuing these broad, ridiculous patents. The office is apparently run by idiots who are, in the broader scheme of things, undermining free enterprise and supporting an Apple monopoly where we, the consumers are the major losers.

The other issue is Apple's actions are dispicable. Apple has copied major features from Android including its Notifications tray. It’s the nature of the tech business, and has been for decades, but this new double standard is ridiculous.

I hope someone with some common sense will throw out the ridiculous verdict in the Apple v Samsung case as this is a very precarious path we are being led down...

If Apple was the only electronics manufacturer left in the world. My home would just be free of devices. I would rather go back to no computers, no TV's, no cell phones or anything else if I was forced to buy an Apple product. They are not allowed in my home at all.

I'm kinda like that too. However, I told the wife that she could get a Mac, but she'd get no tech support for it from me. She'd be on her own to get it to do anything.
