Hero Camera Problem with AOSP

I definitely have a problem with camera. With either the stock AOSP camera app, FX camera or another one I got off the marketplace, they work the first time or two I open them. I was able to take video with the stock app even. But There's something going on because it will quit working. I was trying out ScanLife...I scanned a couple of barcodes and it worked fine. But then it froze and wouldn't open any more. I tried Goggles and Bar Code scanner and they wouldn't open. I tried the camera app and it wouldn't open. So I rebooted the phone and it works now...but I am sure at some point it will stop again.

Any Ideas?

Not really other than the obvious, it seems to be an issue for some and not others, I know AOSP is aware of this as it was mentioned a few times in his thread, I myself had the issue at first but since then I have not has an issue with it, what I had done was wiped cache and davlik and then also re flash the Nandroid, so issue since

I will probably wait til the next update. I've played with the phone more in the last 2 days than the last 6 months. I am trying to figure out what sequence of events can cause it to lock up. I've been playing with barcode scanner around the office for 20 minutes with no problems. I just let the phone time out and sit for a while, so I will see if it is still working.

To be honest, I would reflash 0.9.9.2. It won't mess with any settings unless you enabled jit. Everything will be as you left it, ringtones, text messages.... When you get to recovery wipe dalvik cache and cache, then reflash 0.9.9.2. Reboot phone. When you wipe dalvik cache, boot up may take a little longer than normal

Well, I haven't had any more problems. The one thing I have done differently, is I used the back key to back out of any camera app. I noticed the problem seem to happen if I was in the camera (or barcode scanner) and hit home to open another app, then came back to the camera. So far if I just hit back, back back, etc, when I go back into the camera it is still working. I'll let you know. But that little hiccup is worth it 1000 times over for how much more I like my phone!!! I just about slammed it into my desk last week because of call and dial lag! I am soooo glad I didn't!

The Camera Drags BAD if you flashed .9.9.2 over anything else.
With a clean wipe it is fine....

learned the hard way
