Hero has been nominated for Best Smart Phone

I might be mistaken but i think i saw an 86% in there for the Hero, is this article only available to those on this forum?

nope... it's open to all.. it's just that htc sent a tweet about it and I passed it on here :D not my fault that other manufacturers don't care enough to get the word out...
 
I would say that it is in the bag. With almost 500 votes ahead, I doubt that any other phone can make up that ground in 11 days.
 
Unfortunately About.com carries absolutely no weight at all. If this poll had been carried out on Google, Yahoo, MSN, CNet or any one of the other major players the vote count would be in the 100k range or better, not under 1000.

I was checking out some of the other categories, SurfCanyon was beating Google by almost double, has anybody heard of SearchCanyon?

I did not know any of the sites listed for travel, no Travelocity, Expedia or Priceline.

This poll marks maybe the 5th or 6th time I have ever accessed About.com, and nobody I know ever uses it directly, only when it comes up in a search for something.
 
Voted Hero! 84%!!!!!! Out of the box this phone would struggle to compete against some of the contenders but once u correctly root the Hero, it's is easily on par performance wise with Droid and Iphone. Iphone's only advantage over Hero is the Apple app store's diversity and size.
 
Hey, I just voted as well, and I am bumping this thread. Interestingly enough, I was given a paper print-out about the Hero's status in this contest a few days ago by a family member of mine who works at Sprint. It's big news all around their office from what I understand! It's all thanks to the folks like you on here! :-D
