Root hey guys

I just got a connect cause my esteem wouldn't turn back on. Since we have root access I will make a modified version of my LG Esteem optimizer specific for this phone. LG Connect 4G Optimizer

So far the phone looks like a rough diamond to me, it's powerful but seems lacking in the animations/2D department on the stock rom. I'll be hacking the crap out of it this week to find areas of improvement.

I'm already working on the port. From looking at comments I can tell this phone was assigned to a totally different programmer, this guy actually did some things correctly, hopefully not too much out of the box lol as those turn into features One thing I noticed is the battery stats screen is most definately different, it shows cpu usage correctly rather than lumping all kinds of stuff into android_server, or maybe they just hid it.

this phone IMO is fine the way it is after you get rid of metropcs's garbage and have root in it, its already fast and lasts 15 hours, the only significant improvements we can achieve in this phone is probably only possible through custom rom.

I've already figured a few tweaks out. gonna find some more in the next few days. Benchmarks stay at about the same readings but the ui is about twice as smooth now. Next week i'll have something out there for sure.

One thing I noticed is that the processor can only handle so much at 100% cpu usage. Dead space is a great game, but after about 15-30 mins it gives a heat warning telling you to cool your phone lol... ironically I might have to underclock it temporarily to let you play heavy games as long as you want. It doesn't need all that horsepower anyways, games just sorta do that because they are just an infinite loop of checking values and updating the screen.

seriously, sometimes I wish I could throw my phones at simulations of the people who made all my frustrations possible on the Esteem and the Optimus...

I feel you on that. The esteem had bad software engineers, and the connect has bad hardware engineers...
