Hey Motorola PR....Let's Go!!!!

NFC Championship game is almost over and still not one XOOM commercial. I've seen 2 VZW iPhone 4 commercials (not shocked, are we?) where are the XOOM commercials??? Not to get off topic, but haven't seen a Thunderbolt commercial yet either. For devices that are supposed to be in stores in a few weeks I'm really surprised there's no commercials yet

edit: 7 minutes left in the AFC Championship Game and still nothing from XOOM (or Thunderbolt). There were about 5 more VZW iPhone commercials though, lol

The problem is the iPad 2 will likely spec just about the same as the Xoom. Sure, having a Retina display on it is over-kill, but the average person doesn't get that. They just see the "super resolution" specs thrown out there and say AWESOME! Sadly for me price point is a major issue. If the iPad 2 specs similarly with the Xoom, and is considerably cheaper that's the way I'll be going.

I still don't get the all the hub bub about the ipad.
I was never excited, nor did I ever think it was ever "revolutionary"

The Xoom isn't even in stores yet and I have a totally different feeling towards it.
Oh wait....thats the feeling of Android....
Not a toy,
A machine.
A real tablet with real internal hardware guts!
I think the Xoom is gunna sell pretty well.
I don't think its going to have to have a whole lot of advertising for it to be a success.
At least not the kind where a company has to over do it like *pple does with the *pad.

I was just thinking about the resolution specs and the chosen resolution.

The Adam resolution is 1024x600 @ 10.1 for a dpi of 117.5. iPad is 1024x768 @ 9.7 for a dpi of 132. I've played with the iPads we have at work and the screen is not bad. The Xoom is 1280x800 @ 10.1 for a dpi 149.5. So the screen should look nice enough for 10" and probably better than the Adam.

Now the resolution threw me for a second, but then it made sense. 1280x800 fits any 720p video, and 1080p output on a screen that small is a waste as far as video goes (photos are different, maybe text too). But they have 80 extra pixels for the height, not that black bars are a bad thing. Then I remembered the software menu bar/buttons on the bottom. 1/10th of the screen for that seems like a good button size. It is big enough not to struggle with, and it still allows a full 720p viewable area in landscape.
