This is a post I was reading on XDA and it should find its way to our sticky board. being that must noobs( like me )come here with a lot of the same questions that just got answered yeasterday...and it looks like 80% of them are talked about in his post. Its a good post and must of it I know now but thats only after 100 some posts and questions. and lots of research.... all that being said I just really liked his post

So in that post, they talk about battery recalibration. Part of this involves completely draining the battery. I read somewhere that this is bad for the Evo because of the battery type. So whats your opinion people, draining the battery 100% ok, or can it be damaging to the battery?

the phone is designed to turn off to prevent the battery damage. Drain the battery until the phone shuts off, then let it charge as specified in the thread. would not recommend doing that repeatedly, but HTC recommended the calibration method, so every once in a while should be fine
