hi all. New to the site and new to the htc. and a little help needed please

Hi all. I just bought a htc desire today after selling my samsung tocca. I have 90 odd contacts on my sim card but when i put the sim card in the htc all i have is 16? That's all it can see or is there, anyone out there have any ideas why and if it's poss for the phone to see the rest and to import my contacts to phone.

When you are in contacts, press menu and there should be an option to select which contacts you view. Make sure "sim contacts" are ticked.

Did it work? If not say so and I'll rack my brains further I am more than happy to help.

Once you get your contacts sorted and onto your phone, I would recommend making them "Google contacts". This will syncronise them real-time with your Gmail so if you ever lose your phone, they will all be safe.

Also, in a few years when you come to upgrade, you won't have this issue of having to get them from your SIM card. Hope that helps.

thank guys. i will also try the google. I did the search within the phone and all it could see was 16 contaxts (looking at the sim) But i have an old phone that i got most of my numbers off as i backed up the sim to phone.. Could be worth doing as a back up on a temp basis.
