Hi! New and looking for help

You can create a folder on your SD card after hooking up to the computer and put pictures in there, and they will show up in gallery. (I just named mine "pictures"). Or, if you want to do it on the phone you can create a new folder on the sd card with es file explorer, but I don't see why astro doesn't do this.
Maybe I am misunderstanding the ?

Using Astro, I created folders. They don't show in gallery. When I view pics now, it makes copies of them. Can I create folders from handset? My comp died

If you put pictures in the folders, they should show up in gallery. (once in "all pictures" and once in the folder). If your trying to change where pictures are initially saved when you take them, I don't know how to do that.

You can get to the microsd card by removing the back cover, but you pretty much never have to do this.

I want to create photo folders. Tried Astro. All that does is multiply them like rabbits and I don't get folders!!

Ok, install es file explorer, then on the sd card create a new folder called media then a sub folder inside of it called photos then a sub folder inside of that called whatever you want the album to show in the gallery as... Example "friends"...ect., ect...
You have just created the directory media/photos/desired album name... "friends"

Now using es, copy or move to, whatever image files you want to show in that album, it will now show in the gallery as an album.

Hope that is not too complex our confusing. This is the easiest method I have found to do this without root or connecting your dinc2 to a PC.

You can also use this same directory creating method to use audio files as notification sounds, you just need to build off of this same directory to do that... media>photos>friends/other album names (in the media folder also) audio> notifications/ringtones/alarms.

Use the same method to put audio files in the directory to use them for text message tones, email, ringtones or alarms. They will all show up in the stock picker just like the pictures will show as albums in the gallery... ;)

If you still get multiple copies showing up in your gallery and you're sure you only have one actual copy of the photo on your SD, go into the galley app under manage applications and clear data.
