Highest battery temp you've hit

119F on my Droid X while overclocking to 1.35ghz - needless to say I had pushed the limits too much - no long term effects - had to battery pull to clear!

Could you explain how to do this? I really want to get more into overclocking my Droid X :D

It's a profile setting in the overclock app. You set it to drop when the device hits a certain temp.
Mine is set to drop to 800MHz when it hits 107 degrees.

I use jrummy's droid x overclock.

I'm thinking 120? Or upper teens.
But I'm medium volt oc and sometimes outside with full in case otter box.
Set to drop oc at 104 now and really drop if it gets to 122 with audible warning.
I don't worry about it much, I abuse everything.

If you guys are worried about your cpu temps...

  • it's too damn hot where you live (or)
  • your voltage is set too damn high

Just my opinion and I'm entitled to it. :D

I don't know what temp my phone hit but I got out of the car the other day and left my phone in the car dock (by accident). Spent the day at Magic Kingdom and when I got back, the phone had turned off and after turning on, some settings were messed up.

It was a 90 degree day out so I can't imagine what the temp must have reached in full sun on my dash. The phone is acting normally now. Hope I haven't taken life out of it. :(

I've hit 114 both overclocked and stock settings. I just got a replacement device (lost my old one, which seemed to stay cooler). The other day I was playing geared and in 5 minutes my phone got so hot I had to put it on the table. Needless to say my profile kicked in and reverted to stock (I have it set to 107), but the thing just kept getting hotter and hotter until I stopped everything and just let it sit. I'm not too happy with how hot this new X seems to run.

I thought that 50 c was the threshold so I've set mine to underclock at 47. How does that work for you Airmaxx? Such low click speed with screen off. Is it groggy when waking?

Last weekend at the beach, had my headphones plugged in listening to some music while getting a tan (phone was by my side underneath the towel), felt the phone get really really hot so I checked out the temp 146 degrees!!!! o.O

You can put your battery on a flat surface and spin it. If it spins freely its damaged. Most likely you can feel the bulge but it will most likely work fine
