Help Hold screen and turn to activate camera?

that would be cool, where did you see this happen or that it is possible?

EDIT Ok it is in the lock screen options. Looking at the settings, it looks like this option is only available on the lock screen. I wonder if you can make custom motions???

It works from the lock/home screens when "Camera quick access" is activated, under the "Lock Screen" options.

The only question I can think of to ask is, are you using an actual locking lock screen or just the slide to unlock lock screen? I would think this only works on the slide to unlock? Other than that, I'm stumped.

The finger pattern unlock I'm using it doesn't unlock that obviously otherwise no point having it is there. Which one is it designed for then?

I doubt the developers would want their security based lock screens to be defeated by this feature. If using on a slide to unlock, this allows one to save a lock screen shortcut position, or not have any at all, while still allowing a somewhat fast way to open to the camera, when time is of the essence. If it activated from the "sleeping state", it could lead to the phone waking when not desired.

That's all a bit muddy but if I understand it right, you're using a pattern lock? Where you have to draw a pattern to unlock it? That would be the "issue" right there. Which is to say that it sounds like everything is working as it should.

you can also make a quick command with the s pen to open the camera by drawing a c for example

I definitely get what colnago means. I'd hate to think security can be disabled or bypassed with the launching of the camera via the lockscreen.
