Root Home and Search Button Fault?

So, what you mean by, "settle on the ROM I like", by settle do you mean start installing everything again, or leaving it the way it is?

Oh, wait! Do you mean install all the apps (After a while obviously), then go to Titanium and give you the list of apps in there? (Sorry for my miss-understanding)...

I mean decide what rom you ultimately want to be running and tell me what it is. Then in titanium, when you bring up the list of apps after going menu>batch>restore missing apps with data, tell me whats there. I will tell you what to unselect for whatever rom you have told me you will be using.

Okay, well I DEFINITELY want GingerBread now that I've witnessed it's awesomeness... As for the list of apps, I'll let you know what they are after I install Titanium.

I'm having a problem getting to the Android Market... The application is installed but doesn't come up in the applications menu, and when I go to the widget it just says loading and doesn't stop loading.

It's okay I've got it now... I'm just installing Titanium..

I downloaded the root version... I'm guessing that's the right version?

Oh sorry, I didn't see your message. I'm not sure... I THINK Sense..

When I go to restore apps with missing data it won't let me select it and the number on the right of it is 0...

By the way, I just checked it and it's AOSP...

No... I've actually only used it ONCE and that was on my previous HTC Desire, so I'm new to this..

Oh right. So you can't restore a backup you don't have. Are you restoring anything any other way?

If not the only thing it can be is something youre installing

Using a backup and restore application of any kind to restore any data, settings or applications after flashing Roms

No... So I guess it's just some type of application I'm installing like you said? If so, is there a possible way for you to help me find out what it is, or is that going to be too hard for you to find out?

Here are a list of applications I have installed (Including ones I eventually deleted):

Applications

"TweetCaster Pro for Twitter"
"TweetCaster for Twitter"
"Screenshot"
"Fring" (Conference Video Calling Version)
"Skype"
"Move2SD Enabler"
"The Rock Says"
"Stone Cold Said So"
"Patriots 2011"
Games

"Raging Thunder"
"Raging Thunder 2"
"Raging Thunder 2 Lite"
"Basketball Shot"
"Paper Throw"

...That's all I can currently remember... P.S. It's definitely not the root, because when I installed the new ROM, it stayed rooted and didn't affect it...

Yeah, I got rid of it because I got GingerBread now (It was for moving more apps to the SD card)...

Can I install one of those apps and start using it? Not just to test it but I actually need to use one...

well yeah just go through them one by one untill the problem starts up
when youll know which app is causing the problem if it is an app at fault as it will be the last one you install before trouble kicks in

Hi,

I threaded about having button issues a while ago (The search and home button do not work) and after a long discussion found out it was software related. I was told to install applications one-by-one to see which one was causing the issue, however, whenever the last application I install causes it, I factory reset it and don't install that app and it still messes up. It's as if it has a limited amount of applications that can be installed in order for it to work, rather than one application causing the problem... Any ideas?

There's no upper limit, so if it seems to be related to the number of apps rather than a specific one all I can think of is a bad storage sector (so you reset, fill storage sequentially as apps installed, at at some point hit this bad bit). Why something like that should manifest as a button problem is not obvious. I guess you could use something like Quick System Info to see how much internal/sd-ext space is used when the problem starts, and see whether that is consistent (i.e. there's a certain amount of space used when it starts), but it does all seem a bit weird.

When this happens, would I be right if I guessed that uninstalling the last app does not fix it?
