Home replacement suggestions

Alright Android users I need some help. After a year sabbatical from Android I picked up the Nexus. I have had it for a couple of days and I am to start doing a little customizing before I jump into rooting it.

My question lies in home replacement apps. I was a long time supporter of Launcher Pro, but it seems like the developer has dropped off giving the app the support it needs. So what are you guys using? ADW, Go Launcher, NOVA?

Do any of them offer the stock app drawer?

I have been using Nova and really like it. It adds just enough to make ICS better without taking away from the experience.

I'm currently using the stock launcher, but I plan on trying out Nova later this week. Everyone seems to like it who has tried it. ADW EX is also a great launcher, and I actually use it occasionally on my tablet, but like SolidOrange, it wouldn't feel right to use a launcher that isn't built for ICS.

I tried Nova, but didn't like the stutter when leaving the app tray back to the home screen. I keeps briefly magnifying the onscreen apps, then jerking back to the home screen. Not a smooth transition at all. You still can't alter the available home screens with it either. Someone please correct me if I'm "holding it wrong". :|

I noticed how it acts funny when you hit the home button while in the app screen but if you hit the back button it's smooth as silk.

Ive started using Launcher pro, because I love the dock with swipe gestures and the option to hide the notification bar.
doesnt exist in Nova AFAIK.
not happy about going back to the old style app drawer - anyone know of a better solution?

I hear ya there. I'm not a fan of going in reverse either, so I'm just sticking it out with the stock launcher for the time being.

I like go launcher.
ICS removed the double tap the home button to launch a task. I used it to launch the phone app.
Go launcher lets you swipe the screen up or down to launch an app, I use swipe up to launch the camera and swipe down to launch the phone.

As of Nova beta 12 i have been able to use it without any real issues. I REALLY like the expanded screen width margins and infinite loop effects with beta 13, plus also having the option to add more home screens. Very nice!

I just switched over to NOVA and I'm glad I did. What I like about it are the abilities to reduce the number of homescreens, remove the persistent search box, create 5 rows, and use the card stack transition on the homescreens.

Are there any launchers that allow you to hide apps in your app drawer? I thought I recalled seeing that in one but it could've been a custom ROM that I remember.

I think LauncherPro allows you to hide apps in the app drawer. Haven't tried LP yet on my Nexus 'cause Nova works so well. Hopefully Nova will allow for us to hide apps some day.
