+1 to liking the incredible for sense, also the reason why i would NOT get any new android device coming out laking sense, i have had other android devices with vanilla and sense blows it away, as well as blowing away adw and lp, they are nice for ppl with vanilla roms, but its just a step down from sense with the sense widgets...if one of those home apps allowed sense widgets i would be in... until then sense all the way

rocking out the Launcher Pro. I wish I could get rid of Sense (can't seem to get root. If anyone in PDX can root, PM me!), because I really just want vanilla android + LP

Go to SweeterHome.com to get the most updated version of sweeterhome for 2.1. Not as buggy and much more powerful now.

I've tried Launcher Pro so many times, but it just lacks in so many areas compared to ADW. =\ Sure, it has a couple of nicer features, such as call/sms/gmail dock indicators, but it just doesn't add up for me. It force closes just as much and the app drawer cannot handle 200 apps without graphical errors, unlike ADW.

Another LauncherPro fan here as well. I initially liked sense alot, but got boring and became tired of looking at the huge phone in the dock. LP just adds the ability to customize a whole lot more. I've found replacements for the stock Sense widgets that perform just as good or better. It gets constant updates and the dev actually has a forum that he monitors and pulls suggestions from to decide on what to include in future updates.

There's still a few bugs here and there, but it is still in Beta. Even so, it still runs better than most of the other Home Replacements that are out of Beta. And none seem to get the level of support and updates that LP does.

This is definitely one app I won't mind paying for once it comes out of Beta and becomes a paid app. The developer definitely deserves it.

LP lags for me everytime after a couple hours of switching to it. I'm not even sure why. I keep it just to get the updates but until it stops lagging, I"m going to keep using Sense

sorry for the really noob question guys/gals... but where can I find launcher pro? I tried searching for it in the market and can't seem to find it?

Try searching w/o the space, e.g. "launcherpro"
This applies for a lot of apps.

Nothing wrong with n00b questions. That is how you become l33t.

Another noob questions. How do you switch back to sense from LP. For some reason i can't figure that out. Just had mine for a couple days. Lots to figure out.

Thanks.

Thank you for the response... still no luck though... is it maybe because I'm using an Xperia x10?

Should be able to clear the default and/or remove the program in Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications.

I installed and played around with LP all last night and I must say that I am not a fan. I felt like I was missing 90% of what I needed. Sure I could have searched the app market for replacement widgets but why would I when Sense provides all that I want. I found no advantage going to LP but found many disadvantages when compared to Sense.

LP all the way for me. The developer is insanely active and implements features very very quickly and efficiently. If there is a bug, he fixes it within 12 hours. I love the dock notifications and I won't be going back to Sense.

I really liked LP but ultimately had to switch back to Sense because LP because horribly laggy once I added all my normal widgets.

To be honest I guess it can be quite confusing if your just downloading LP for the first time now. I started using it back when there really wasnt much to customize. I actually didnt see the benefit of it over sense at first. But the update came quick and got me hooked. I think thats why it doesnt seem difficult to me. I got it piece by piece as updates rolled in where as new users are getting the whole package in its entirety at once. It probably is a bit overwhelming.

Just take one option at a time, figure out what it does, and adjust it to your likings
I installed launcherpro this week and had no problems adjusting the UI. To me it's like starting over when I first got the Incredible. I am still tweaking LP to my liking and it's not hard to do or overwhelming. LP is just as good or even better than Sense. As far as widgets. It's no big deal to me b/c I don't use much of those widgets. I don't need a big clock or any clock on the screen b/c the time is on the upper right screen. I have that widget on the dock only for setting my alarm when at work. There are so many weather widgets in the app market along with other widgets i don't need to worry about Sense widgets. I have nothing against Sense b/c it's a great home app and I have been using since the first week of june. I was just curious about these different home apps and tried one out. So I'm happy to say....I like it!!!:D

i used lp on my moto droid and really loved it, but sense is so fast and cool, and i love the widgets. it really just does everything i need it to (i'm a simple girl, i guess). so i'm torn. i would like to try lp again (i love the landscape, the customizable features, etc.), but i could never find a good facebook widget until i got friendstream on sense. if anyone can suggest something similar or better, i will try it and maybe go back to lp. also, i need a calendar widget like sense has, with the weather showing up on each day. i love that. do i need that? no. but it's cool, damn it. ;-)

really, all i need is a facebook widget that works like the friendstream sense widget. if i found that, i'd try it again. any suggestions?

Well you can switch between Sense and LP by downloading home switcher on the market if you don't have it already. It allows you to switch between home apps on your phone easily and allows you to make which ever one your default home app.

I have both, Sense and LP, loaded, but I voted for Sense because I recently switched back to it. I wish there were some better clocks with weather integration. I like the features of LP but miss the HTC widgets. If i'm using it for extended periods in Landscape then I switch to LP which is awesome in Landscape.
