Root How can I see where memory is going?

Android Enthusiast
I'm rooted, using TiBu and Link2sd...still stock ROM, really loving the rooted phone.

I've downloaded MANY apps in the last couple weeks and my internal storage availability has held steadily at 74%. Then, tonight after downloading two apps (Yahoo mail and some small tape recorder app), I went down to 72% available storage. I rebooted and it didn't return to 74%. I imagine at some point with downloading and linking apps the storage would diminish...but, I'm curious how the storage is being used.

So, it got me wondering if there were a way I could look in the phone to find out what is using system storage ... where/how, etc. I have androzip from the root process, but don't really understand how to use it and what I'd be looking for...

TIA for any tips!

I could not find the info in the cache folder with Androzip it just shows as empty. I have a paid File manager that does show the info. I'm in the process of finding a file manager that will allow you to see the info that you don't have to pay for.
EDIT: ES File Explorer does the job but I was having a hard time getting the / directory to show, but, went to menu/settings/home directory and changed it from /sdcard/ to /cache/ and then exited app. When I went back into the app I was looking in the cache folder. Selected dalvik-cache.
I'm sure there is an easier way to get to the / directory where the cache file is stored in,but most times I have a hard time with new things and have to make the mistakes necessary to insure it stay's in my memory(at 48 my memory is going south, so that doesn't help either).
You should have been here back in May-August. I knew nothing about Android devices and just enough about my PC to browse the web. Talk about a lot of stress. Between work and trying not to mess up my phone again,my brain was cooking.
I think I liked it a lot better when I worked in the "Frank Church River of No Return" Wilderness Area and had no stress other than the day to day chores necessary for survival. Work was pretty cool being a Guide. Transportation was a horse. Sitting on the huge covered porch of the bunk house after supper and experiencing the peacefulness of our environment as it slowly got dark, with are entertainment being a grand lightning storm every now and again. All in all,no stress really at all.

Wow, that sounds really nice! I dream of living off the grid in a private, peaceful cottage on the coast of Ireland, southern New Zealand, or maybe up in Alaska/BC...LOL A girl can dream! :)

PS...if you want some natural help with that memory problem, I can advise some great nutritional supplements! Omegas (EPA and especially DHA) and Alpha Lipoic Acid are good helps. Cheers!

I hear that in the summertime you can put saddles on the mosquitoes in Alaska and ride em around.

Exaggerating of course lol... but doesn't Alaska have a mosquito issue? I know Florida does (I hated living there!). If there's a mosquito within a mile of me, it's bites and I swell up like a balloon. It's not pretty!

Sorry... /end offtopic

Haha, then it isn't much different than where we currently live. It's been horrid...two summers of mosquitos of plague-like proportions. ugh! Worst of the many locations I've lived...what to do? LOL

there's an app we need...tracking mosquito activity thru the US... :)

Try Super Manager. Grant root access and you can look into all your folders and check the size.

OK, so I'm going to download super manager. can you tell me how i would use it to see what is on my internal memory...and how i might regain space if possible? thanks!
