How did you get your Evo?

My wife and I were shopping at Sam's Club today. We finished shopping and were walking toward the exit when my wife said, "Didn't you want to see if they had that phone here?" I walked over to the Radio Shack boys and guess what? Now I have an Evo. Last one they had.
 
Cousin is a store manager of a sprint retail store.....When he got his shipment (5 EVO's) Had him put one to the side for me picked it up and got the phone for 200 Bucks with 100 Back....Yeah it was a inside job:cool:...Easy Peezy
 
Did the 50 dollar pre-order deposit thing at Best Buy. It only took about a week for them to get a shipment...which was on the 19th of this month, just last week. Got one white and one black (wife and I).
 
after my hero turned into a bigger shit box after the update , i bitched and yelled on the phone saying i was going to at&t and after about an hour they ended buying back the hero for $125 i only paid $100 for it ??? lol gave me a $70 good customer credit and a $100 early upgrade , my brother in law works at sprint , and as soon as i got off the phone and the lady was like good luck finding an evo this month , i literaly got in my car , drove to the store and my brother inlaw sold me someone elses ...lol im sure he said the "idk what happend must have been an accident " rutine , but whats funny is an hour after i activated it i realized the camera didnt work , so i took it back and yup , factory defect -so he gave me another one , idk where he got it .... o wait musta been someone elses that they were coming to get later .... hahah all in all i got it now , love it , and even tho i was 5 months early for my rebate i still got it for like $150 well like $170 i got the hdmi cord , gps car holder , case , screen protectors and he only charged me for one accsesory with a 25% discount , and i got to keep the sd card and charger from the box of the 1st one i had to replace , wich really helps - one in my room , one in my living room , and..... i got one 8 gig sd of all movies that when i travel i can just pop in
 
Pre-ordered at Radio Shack. Picked up on launch day with appointment, but it took the dumb asses over an hour to get it activated. :(

Love the phone...so far
 
First Evo- called my sprint rep(July 29) and it was on my doorstep 3 days later...

Second Evo- called my sprint rep(Aug 20) it's on the UPS truck headed to my house today...

Sprints commitment to business' these days it fantastic!

Sprint has assigned sales reps to all small business customers. You just call them up and tell them what you want. I have never had to wait more than a few days for anything(even when the sprint website shows out of stock). I did the same thing when the overdrive came out and had it just a few days later.
 
Got all three of mine by walking into a best buy store

1st was on launch day...was there at 3am....i got the one and only one that wasn't reserved. The next two they had a few in stock when I arrived.
 
I had verizon and was planning to get the X on launch day...Went to get a haircut in the mall. On the way out ran into my friend who works for sprint (who has been telling me to come in and visit him, to switch to sprint). I asked him if they had any Evo's in stock, he laughed and said "yes we have 1 available, the 24 hr holding period just went up 10 min ago" he said "its yours if you want it". I filled out the paper work and switched over to sprint (he even gave me his employee discount) and have been really really impressed with the HTC Evo ever since
 
Just got mine last evening from the Sprint store. A week before, the employee there said to send her my email address and she will notify me if an EVO is in stock. Got an email from her yesterday morning saying that 5 EVOs were delivered, but two were sold already. I was stuck at work so I didn't stop by until the evening. She said I got the last one and was lucky because people normally call them all the time... except yesterday for some reason. Typing this message by USB tethering right now. I'm afraid to take the screen protector off. Hahaha... you know you did the same thing...
 
Best Buy, in late June. I called and they were happy to tell me that they were expecting a shipment that wednesday of 50 EVOs. Instant rebate plus $10 a month no hassle replacement plan (I like to break my phones) can't be beat.
 
I put a pre order in on june 1st at bestbuy, got on the second shipment list.

walked into bestbuy on june 4th at about 9:30, there were 2 people being helped and 1 guy in front of me. walked out of the store around 10 or so with my evo. they said they had about 5 or so evo's not accounted for by the pre order list for 1st shipment.

they called me the following week to let me know my pre-order had arrived :) should have piked that one up too...

I live in san francisco and it didn't seem that hard to pick one up in the first few weeks. now not so much.
 
I guess I was lucky I called BB once, they said they had 3 of them in black, held one for me, voila... Whole thing took about an hour..
