Help How Do I Fix a Loose Charging Port??

Before we move this on it's own, is your device an LG Motion 4G ?? or do you have a different device, the more info you can give us for us to guide you accordingly, we don't want to hijack another members thread. ;)

Is it the phond or the charger?
Sometimes the end of the cord gets loose fir me
I ever so slightly crimp the metal
I mean very gently.i usually bite it
Makes the contacts touch again
Not sure if thats your problem though
 
most times it is just the charging usb cable itself like another member said.
if it is in fact the port you will need soldering skill, the part is only about $5

I'm relatively sure it's the socket.. I've tried multiple cables, and have the same issue, whenever the phone is moved slightly it disconnects/reconnects
 
Sorry for posting here but I didn't want to make another post . I've made about 20 useless posts already . so my charger started acting up . it wouldn't charge my phone . I connected my dads phone and it works , but on mine it won't . so I changed the data cable and now its charging . so it left me wondering , what the hell is wrong with my charging port ? Anyone have the same issue ?

That means both the charging cable and phone is a little loose, and when the loose cable + loose phone are connected, it is too loose to connect properly. I've experienced this issue with my optimus m and my mom's optimus m and chargers.
 
I have corrected this issue as stated in my above post
But on my admire which is now gone
I simply soldered two small wires (like telephone wires)
To to socket inside. Made a small hole in the back
And converted everything to jacks
Sotta like headphone jacks
It was so much easier since i always have problems with the usb conections
This leaves the usb port in perfect condition for connecting to a computer
Now that i have had my motions long enough to think everything works fine i will add a jack to them as well
 
I had read the post but how can I bite on the peace without knowing how hard . what if I break something ? Can you show me in a pic how yours is done .
 
Lol no. The indentation is so small you cant see
I just barely put a little pressure
It made a tight fit removing the slop or play
I guess you can spread it with a jewlers screwdriver or something if you use to much pressure
That was my problem and thats how i fixed it
I didnt have any diagrams or guaranty it would work
I simply did it out if necessity

But now i have several spares knowing that i will probably need them
Untill i add a jack for power
 
Can you teach me how to add that ? I would really hate for this phone not to work , I bought it for 180 something when i saw it on my closes metro store a while ago . so I'm hoping there's a quick fix .



Im going to switch to Samsung s3 since this phone really do sent like me . I'm giving it to my bro when I switch and since he just got out I don't want him having to try to figure out how to fix it himself . I wouldn't want to give him junk . pretty expensive though so I have to wait a while .

In thdoing this physical mod remove all connection problems.but a huge benefit
If you use the phone while charging as i always do
The power cord will no longer be on the side if the phone
Which gets in the way and also can cause the stretching of the port
You will want to be satisfied that your phone is working ok as once you crack the screws on the back you warantee is probably void
 
you can try bending the two places a little marked in the pic.

Does anybody wonder why the majority of people here have adopted the attitude of
( Figure it out yourself like i did) ?
 
So I was mad today when I noticed that the cable that was working for me yesterday wasent charging my phone anymore . I remembered that when I bought the portable powerbar charger it came with a cable . so I tried it just for the mean time and it magically made a perfect fit . I'm talking about a really tight fit , it won't move at all . so now my issues gone . no matter how I move it it it wont disconnect . so my problem was that cheap charger that came with the phone , thanks guys .
