How do I remove email addy & profile info on unlocked Inspire

Hi, I haven't found any info on this on the forum so hopefully I am not repeating questions that have already been asked and answered.

I recently purchased an unlocked Inspire and tried to use it on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim (also tried with Family Mobile, which uses T-Mobile towers) neither attempt gave me any signal in my general area. I've tried a different phone and know it's not an issue with the carriers, but with poor signal strength/antennae with the phone.

That being said, I want to remove my info and sell the phone. I've uninstalled apps and removed most everything, however, I can not remove my email address and information from the google apps - when I attempt I get the message that I must reset the phone. Since the phone is unlocked I have not done this because I would imagine a reset would lock the phone again. So how do I remove my personal information? Specifically, under "people" - I have deleted all contacts but when I click on "My profile" I can remove all my information except name and it shows my email address with the facebook icon to the right of it. However, when I click the facebook app it doesn't automatically log me in, it doesn't even display my email address in the login area.

If anyone can help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :)

Hey there and welcome to the forums! :)

You can factory reset the phone and it won't set it back to a locked state. It only removes the user data and you've put into the device.

Hi DragonSlayer! Thanks for the welcome and the info. I'm not sure how to do the reset, but either via the forum or google it shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I definitely assumed it would lock the phone again so I appreciate the help. I just hope you're right! Kidding, I'm sure you are. Btw, I see that we're neighbors of sorts - I'm in North Carolina :)

I've read in a few places that a factory reset won't touch an unlocked state.

I don't have an inspire, but you could try going into settings, security I believe and you should see factory reset.

Very nice, hi neighbor :p not for long though. California calls me in about a month then Hawaii in January :D

I'll give that a try, if I can't find it I'll google but it shouldn't be too hard to find I'm sure :)

I'm jealous of the Hawaii thing, always wanted to go there. If I had to guess I'd say you must be military with all that moving around?

FYI, in case anyone else comes along trying to factory reset an Inspire this is where to find that - settings - storage - factory data reset (which is at the bottom of the list under Personal data for me)

No actually, I can't do military because of a medical condition (severe case of asthma), someone I'm very close with for the last 10 years lives in California.

I wanted a change of life style and we both decided to bring me out there and her job will take us to Hawaii.

I can say I am looking forward to it.

Thanks again! I appreciate the help and good luck with the move! I was born and raised here and honestly can't imagine relocating myself just because of being near family and I'm a creature of habit, but I can definitely see it would be exciting and fun to go on a new adventure. I'll try not to be jealous of Hawaii. Will you be near the beach in California? Living at the beach would definitely be great, especially in year round warm weather :)

I've heard of it, but not familiar with much of California, I've never been there. With the exception of Mexico I've never been west of Tennessee actually lol But I love the beach and like I said warm weather year round would be heavenly to me!
