Root how do i rename my esteem?

How do I rename my esteem to something else?
I know how to do it in the build.prop but is there an .XML
or something else that needs to be edited? Because I have done it several times in the build.prop with better and worse phones but I still get the same Google play options as far as games and such.

Isn't there also like 3 others that you have to change like the model, brand, name, device, and board? Also the manufacturer

dont touch the board one, other files/processes might read that prop, for instance the camera etc.

Last time I had to do a edit like that it was just the model that was being looked for.

Yeah i changed the board before. Had to do a restore to get out of bootloops

ive changed the board on my optimus but not on my esteem. back when netflix was just coming out and to get it from the store you had to change your phone to a google phone.
