How do I shut off 4G?

Mr Ed is right, just having wifi on will not diable 4G or data; you have to be connected to a wifi source to do that. But then all data except wifi is shut off. AFAIK there is no way to just use 3G and shut 4G/LTE off
 
i called samsung & AT&T about the same thing & i got the same answer , once youre connected to WIFI your 4G is off unless you send a picture text thats when it kicks in , hoping that will help some
