Help How do I stop the double text notification?

I have handcent on my phone and whenever I get a text, the handcent and stock icons show up in the taskbar.

How do I stop the default notification from showing up and just have the handcent one?

Go to the default messaging application. Menu > Options > disable notifications. You'll want to turn off all notifications including vibrate, sound, etc.

I dont want to use the default messenger at all, just handcent. Will disabling notifications stop incoming messsages on the default system or is there another way to stop them??

you cannot stop incoming messages as handcent is not a replacement of the messaging app. it pulls the messages from the htc messaging app. simply disable all notifications in the menu and don't use it
