Help How Do I Stop the Sprint Activation Screen from appearing at startup?

I just purchased a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 SPH-P500 from Tiger Direct (Brand New) for $159 + a $20 gift card. My intention is not to activate it with Sprint but use it for Wi-Fi only. I can hook to Wi-Fi just fine.

Here is my issue. Each time I start up the tablet, after the Sprint logo screen disappears, a hands free activation screen appears and tries to activate my tablet with Sprint. I have no need for data from Sprint or any other carrier for that matter. I can click"cancel" and the screen goes away, but the next time I boot, it's there again.

Is there anyway (without rooting) that I can disable this process?
 
No--as stated I intend to use this tablet for Wi-Fi only and have no intension of activating with Sprint or any other carrier. I just want to stop the "Activation screen" from appearing at boot up.

Hey SaltyDawg I have the same tablet Unfortunately there isn't much support for the sprint version. Mine is active with sprint but I don't think there is any way with out rooting. I have only seen a few threads on rooting the sph-500 and not sure if there are any roms that will work. I'm still hesitant to root mine because of this.
 
Cydia impactor rooted mine and I was able to freeze the Sprint Activation app and other bloatware. Now I'm just looking for recovery and roms from carriers that could be used. A few people had luck with roms for the SPH-P5100, but I'm not ready to take that chance yet. Still trying to find a stock rom before I take the plunge. Hopefully there will be more research on this one because it was such a good deal.
