ok i bricked my lg optums v its rooted and i did a factory reset and now it goes to black screen when booting lg sign comes on and then a black screen. I cant boot in normal or recovery mod. I have another thread but nobodys posting on it any more but some one told me to use qtadb i have it installed i just need to know how to use it to unbrick my phone my pc and adb and qtadb see my phone.

That's a good Question. Can you see your system Files (not just your sd card. but the system files)? If you can then it would be pretty simple to check certain files to see where your at, and what you need to do. If you can check the files on your system check to see if you have su and busybox still. su is in the /system/bin and busybox should be in the /system/xbin. Also the custom flash_image will be in the /system/bin and have a date that corresponds to the day you installed it. If the date doesn't match and is an older date then you will need to install the custom flash_image as well.

Let me know what you see. This will be the first time QtADB will have been used to unbrick a phone that I know of. Should make things a lot easier though. I have it installed on my PC and like it a whole lot.

Sorry for not answering, I've been busy lately.
Boot in normal mode, browse files on the phone. If you can browse /cache partition you are good to go. You only need good recovery img file for your screen. QtADB comes with everything else.
Just drag and drop your recovery img from PC left pane to Phone /sdcard right pane. Then go to "Advanced" Page > "Flash New Recovery" tab, double click img file on /scard tab and press "Flash" button, reboot to recovery when prompted. If everything is OK you can flash ROM within the new recovery or using QtADB.

If you can't browse phone files, you can reboot to bootloader flash recovery with fastboot.
Reboot bootloader:

Press "Flash recovery" button, select recovery img file on your PC and wait a couple secconds. If you see message with no errors, it's done. Reboot phone (Tools>Fastboot>Reboot), then reboot to recovery and confirm it's OK. Then proceed with ROM.

I can access the catch but i it won't let me use flash recovery like i keep clicking on chose recovery but it won't let me its like its locked for some reason

OK. First go to "Flash New Recovery" tab and then double click img file.Do you see the full path typed in the box next to "Flash" button?
All this has to be done in normal Android OS, NOT in recovery.

It won't let me type in the box. But it says chose recovery image from/sd card below. And i used droid at screen and although i cant see it on the phone the cwm recovery is there and i can navigate throw it.

But you have wrong recovery for your screen.

You can't type in the box. You have to select img from sdcard bellow. Double click the img file there, or select it and press "Confirm Selection" button and it will be inserted in the box. Then you press "Flash".

Are you in Android OS or recovery? /sdcard and all functions except mount/unmount are disabled in recovery mode.

Did you say that you could see your recovery with Droid@Screen? You have a recovery installed, you just can't see it with the phones screen. Put a ROM and Gapps on the sd card. Then using Droid@Screen use the up/down buttons on your phone to navigate and the camera button to select. What version of CWMod recovery does it indicate? 3.2.0.1 perhaps? If it's 3.2.0.1 you need to put the VM670NH_recovery.img on the sd card as well. Follow this tutorial to flash the ROM and Gapps http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...tory-reset-your-rooted-phone.html#post3263770
Once you have the ROM and Gapps installed and have rebooted the ROM a couple of times, download a terminal emulator and follow the install procedure for flashing the recovery. Make sure you type the name of the recovery in exactly as it's spelled on the sd card (you can rename it to:recovery, image to make it easier to get it right).

You made this program? Dued wow your really good at this stuff its a really good program

Not all of it, but the parts that concerns you yes.:)
I need to test what is safe to do in recovery mode first. I think most of it is safe but need some testing and changing the way it's done. Stay put.

OK here is quick build of QtADB.exe for flashing recovery in recovery mode.
Rename your current QtADB.exe to something else and put this one in the same folder. Follow instructions given earlier. It's a test build so something else might not work as it should, but flashing recovery works for sure.

killer14321, when you use Droid@Screen can you use you phones volume up/down rocker to scroll thru the options and see it scroll on your PC screen? If you select with the camera button say, the advanced option, will it go into that option and show the advanced options? If you answered yes to both, then drop down and go to the link provided. You have a working recovery (you just can't see the menu because it's the wrong recovery for the screen drivers) and can install a ROM and Gapps.

Yes its a full working recovery. I can scroll and select the problem being is i cant get roms cause i do all this over my phone. Its a rumor touch from vm and they limt the size of a file to download. Unless there some were i can download it in rar form it might take a while to find a pc with internet
