Root How do you backup before root?

How do you back up your phone, apps and settings before rooting? I guess I want the actual apps I've bought or downloaded, and also the my phone call and text history.

Is it possible to return the phone call and text history after rooting?

Reading around, Unrevoked apparently doesn't lose anything. And now I've done it.

astro will back up your apps

mybackup pro (5 bucks) will backup data like sms/mms/call-log etc

^ Or even the regular lite version will work. I've been using it for the past couple days and it's worked all 5+ times lol.

A little backwards, but I rooted first, then used Titanium backup. Once I installed a new ROM, I used Titanium to do my app restores. It even puts the icons back where they were before.
