Root How do you create a Nandroid?

You have to have Koush's bootstrap recovery installed.

Open bootstrap > click bootstrap recovery > click reboot recovery > (phone reboots into recovery) > backup and recovery > backup. Once it's complete go back and select reboot.

EDIT: Once in reboot recovery it's like the stock android recovery- use the volume rocker buttons to move up and down, camera button to select, back button to go back.

True. But "Install this" with a link to a market app is faster to type than, "Go to website. Download APK. Move APK to SD card. Allow non-market apps in settings. Use file explorer. Install app."

:D

Agreed. I'm cheap though so when it's legitimately free I'll spend the extra 5 minutes digging around for it.

My Brain Hurts

I knew how to make a backup like that, just didn't know that was a Nandroid.

I have another ?, if I make a Nandroid of my phone running OTA 2.2, ApeX Rom, and a theme can I make a couple with different themes? That would allow me to setup a few different themes and quickly swap between them and keep my settings, apps and home screens setup?

HeXiiK - what I think you thought nandroid was is actually the boot animation. Check out the other thread you made about root apps we like. I put that app on the bottom of my list for you.

So how does somebody access the data you backed up? I'm looking to steal some APKs from a previous ROM I was on, but I don't have any idea how to get to them via the back up.

where is this backup saved? I assume on the sd card, but where. I would like to keep a copy on my computer.

On the SD card in a folder called clockwork or clockworkmod or a similar name. Starts with clockwork.
