Root How do you remove bloatware?

Iowabucks

Hey everyone, i have a Motorola Triumph running CyanagenMod 7. I would like to know the best way to get rid of bloatware. Just the apps and stuff i wont be using.

I did a search for bloatware and nothing even came up. Something about me and searches just don't work out.

Is using Titanium Backup the best way to do this? Freeze them first rather than deleting right away? Will i actually be making space in my phone if i get rid of some of them?

Is there some kind of tutorial on this subject anywhere?

Titanium backup is what I would've suggested, just make a backup before you uninstall the apps. (In case it causes any problems.)

You may also want to read this.

Barebones - CyanogenMod Wiki

It will let you know which system apps are safe to uninstall, removing most bloat shouldn't cause any problems. (But that's why you always want to make a backup.)

There's a Root Uninstaller app I've always used. I've never really seen a list of what's removable...I just usually use common sense. If I think it's a system app and that it's needed...I leave it. But with CM7 you shouldn't even have any bloatware.

That link B2L posted has a list of all the stuff that comes with CM7. See what you don't use and if the wiki says it is okay to remove, then you should be fine. It is a good idea to freeze it first, then you only need to unfreeze it if you start having issues.

I always recommend freezing apps first. Then if there are any adverse affects from removing an app it is as simple as defrosting the app. Once it is frozen if there are no adverse affects from the app being gone after a couple of days and reboots, then it is normally safe to go ahead and delete it if you want.
