How is the signal reception?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 at the moment, and getting the 3G data signal on it is VERY spotty. Actually, about 75% of the time, I can't get one. But if my dad brings his regular Droid over, he gets 3G at all times, from what I've seen. I imagine it's probably due to different antennas companies use, and the fact that my phone model is 2-3 years ago and some of the tech possibly has gotten better.

Anybody who has a Droid X and have had a Droid, can you compare the signal similarities, hopefully?

Thanks!

My Droid had exceptional signal reception and thus far the X is in the same league. With the original Droid I drove to all parts of the country and was amazed at how well it did with getting a signal. Obviously, I haven't gone too far with the X, but so far, no complaints.

This is my first Verizon phone, but coming from AT&T the service is nothing short of phenomenal here in the rural countryside of Tennessee. With my iPhone I typically had 0-2 bars in my house. My x regularly gets 3-4 with 3G. I coudn't possibly be any happier with the reception of the X. My girlfriend has a Samsung Rogue (eww) and she struggles to get 1 bar where I get full service.

This is honestly the single greatest purchase I've ever made in my short 20 years of life. I couldn't imagine going back to any other phone after using this. I've had it 35 hours now...been on it for 26 haha.

Maybe it's my phone but mine constantly switches from 3G to 1x and back. It's very odd considering there is a tower on top of the building I work in.

I went from the BB Curve 8330 and my reception is better on the X and I would honestly say this is the best call quality I've ever had on any phone.

The rec room in our house is about five feet underground, ie -windows five feet off the floor are ground level with outdoors. Sat next to my teenage son last night on the sofa. His eris had one bar, my X had three.....

YMMV, obviously.

My signal reception is quite good at my house. My Incredible was about 2-3 bars while my X is 3-4 bars. Of course, it isn't a clear indication of how good the signal is but take it for what it's worth.

What's the biggest difference is call quality. HUGE difference there. The person on the other line sounds so crystal clear that it shocked me. No more staticky or slightly garbled sound that happened from time to time with my Inc.

The reception is actually pretty amazing. I've always had bad reception (0-1 bars) in my house with past phones (Razr, Q9c, Incredible) yet the Droid X is usually at 2-3 bars. Call quality is great and it doesn't drop calls like my Incredible did.

Sorry, I forgot that Moto uses a different string. Use this:

*#*#4636#*#*

Choose Phone information. Signal will be listed there.

same exact problem with me. I can't reliably hold a 3G signal. I'm gonna go to back to Verizon by the end of the week if it doesn't straighten itself out.

I'm showing only one bar in my house but the signal is around -90 while my iPhone 3G is at -103 to -113...not loading pages so great though so far and I'm a little disappointed. When I turned off wifi, it jumped to 3 bars then dropped from 3G to 1x..
