Help how long until we have to replace our batteries? is it too soon?

all of a sudden my batteries are useless. i always have a spare battery with me and never have problems. last few days main battery is dead by 10am? and spare isnt fully charged from previous night charging when i pop it in? are they not holding charges anymore?

or is it domething that is sucking the life out of them on my phone?

phone is all original and i dont have any overload on it. been fine since day one and now all of a sudden this.

car charger barely keeps it steady.

Check your awake time:

menu->settings->about phone->Battery. If you suspect it's higher than it should be (way more time than you know you've used it) or even worse if it's the same as uptime, something is holding a wake lock.

1) Does it do this all the time now? Obviously, if you have another batter, you've had to turn it off and back on, so I won't bother asking if you've rebooted.
2) Have you installed any new apps lately? Check battery use while at that same about screen. Are there any specific apps towards the top?
3) Install spare parts from the market. Plug your phone in, unplug it, let it sit idle for a few hours, then check partial wake usage since last unplugged. See if anything is holding a wake lock for longer than a few minutes.

If both of your batteries are having this problems, it's extremely unlikely that you have a battery problem.

1) Install Spare parts
2) Plug your phone in, then unplug it
3) Leave the phone idle for a few hours
4) Open Spare Parts
5) Select "Battery history" at the top
6) Select the top drop down box and select partial wake usage
7) Make sure the second drop down box says since last unplugged
8) You will see a list of processes in order or longest total wake locks held
9) If it's a high percentage, there's a problem. What is the top on, and what does it say for total time?

i left 4g off today and it seemed to solve the problem. my battery lasted pretty well today and didnt even use my spare.

i will try tomorrow again.

sad that if this is the case of 4g draining it, i will be very pissed off bc i like to leave 4g and wifi on all the time so i can be connected anytime there is a chance.

Yeah, that's another thing we would have gotten to eventually. There is a known issue where if you use 4g, then turn the radio off, it will continue to keep the phone awake even though the radio was turned off. The only way to fix it is to reboot the phone. You should also get rid of any 4g toggle widgets as they can cause 4g to turn on then back off when you boot the phone up. Once that happens, it keeps the phone awake. It doesn't happen all the time, but it's a known bug.

Neither 4g or wifi were intended to operate that way. I suggest only turning them on when you need them and are connected.

From your description what you are doing would be similar to running a hot shower constantly....so that it will be there when you want it.....but at some time its going to run out of hot water
