I have just under 20 apps. I am not a fan of cluttering my phone with useless so called fancy apps I dont need!

I don't know how you guys with 100+ cope. I had like... 10 on my phone and my battery life sucked (granted 2 were sport alert based, that only update during gametime and 2 were messenger, which both use PUSH notifications) but my battery life was terrible! In fact earlier today I uninstalled all but 3 of them, to see if that helped

Maybe I have a dodgy battery

133 user and 122 system.

Half I don't use from week to week but they're not causing a problem so no need to get rid of them.

I'd say 120 I think downloaded apps..and I run them ALL AT ONCE ;):D

angry birds mixed with a lil IRC chatting and a lil photoshop editing ALL AT ONCE :D

nah...barely have 4 apps running at once, not including processes

I don't run them all at once.

I find that quite disappointing tbh haha
Nah obviously I know all 100 can't be running at once but surely a fair few must be running in the background? What I was trying to say is my phone only has 4 or 5 apps running in the background and my battery seems to be drinking electricity

:)

well it all depends what they are...

I mean some of us more 'senior' users have tasker/settings profile set up to auto sync any net stuff....so we dont constantly have things like email, news apps or such running constantly..

so at most we may just have a few apps running together but nothing major due to the profiles set...

and this GREATLY helps battery life...I mean I have my email and weather set to auto sync every 2 hours when the net comes on due to profiles set...so thats a large portion of battery im saving..

Yeah I know but you will learn I am a facetious shit :)

I have calendar, weather, gmail and Facebook sync but that's about it really. Like Dean says, its the syncs that kill

I never really got into using Tasker but I should probably try it out, especially if it's going to save me some vital battery life... that or I should purchase the Galaxy S II *shock horror*

I think I was running Fotmob, Live Scores and... eBuddy, oh and WhatsApp. None of them synced constantly, unless I was using them but my battery lasted me less than 15 hours the other day *shrugs*

Quick question, is it possible for a battery to UNcalibrate itself? I only ask because out of desperation I calibrated it this morning and since then it's used 30% in 8 hours, which is quite an improvement

to be fair....doesnt matter how new a device is....smartphones will STILL only give around 12-20 hours to be fair unless your not using them....battery tech still cant be pushed any further..

and yes I know custom roms and kernals etc can make things last longer...but stock phones themselves will still be around that margin...and even the impressive new galaxy is gonna be much the same...

hell my desire last the same as my old nokia 5800 and the same as my nokia 95 used to last....smartphones really arent gonna get MUCH more battery life right now....same with laptops...your not gonna get MUCH more..

Woah, I just checked my battery usage for today. Actually the graph is wrong I noticed earlier. It dropped a couple of hours off and now its dropped more off. It says 13 hours, but I unplugged around 09:00. Its now 01:00 so thats 16 hours. 59% including 1h 25m screen on. Thats less than I usually use it, but thats still pretty good going.

Edit> Update on this, Went to bed at 03:00, 1hr 33m screen on time, wifi, sync everything on. Did reboot and flash a theme, took it down to 54%.

Decided not to charge it. Woke up at 10:00, was 48%. Same screen on usage, everything still on (including wifi). Tgats less than 1% an hour. That almost doesn't seem possible.

That said, I woke up with BSOD so had to reboot to get to 48% Battery.

But 52% with just under normal usage (usually have 2h screen on time) in 25 Hours.... Brilliant.

How do you manage to install so many, even when moving apps to the SD card i find that it still uses too much space to get into the hundreds of apps you guys are boasting

Root and use A2SD+, or take it even further with Hboot partition re-arrangement.
