how many are using live wallpapers

I'm using the live wallpaper and full animations and my display only accounts for about 2% of my battery usage over an eight hour day.

No live wallpapers. I'm 25 already.. Live wallpapers are for the teenagers mostly.

Very vibrant coral reef picture with a turtle swimming though. Even better. Probably eats up battery just as much!

I'm 21 and I use live wallpapers just to show what my phone can do. Does the iPhone do live wallpapers if not then one up over them

The two main ones I am using are Shake them All (which has lots of mods you can make ot it) and NexusMod, which gives it the same background as the Nexus One.

I havent used them because I didnt like any of them on my initial quick search. But the Magic Smoke one sounds cool, so I'll check that out.

Live wallpapers are for those that want to one up the iPhone fan boys. They don't care about hearing how the Inc is better because of the hardware specs. It's not good enough for them. They like flashy eye candy...such as the live wallpaper.

I used a desktop type of wallpaper with ants on it years ago, is there a smartphone live wallpaper with moving ants on it? My 9 year old would love seeing that one.

WTF, I've never owned an iPhone and don't know what an iPhone can do, or really care what it can do as compared to my Incredible. Not everyone here gives a damn about the iPhone, some of us are just enjoying our Incredibles and everything IT can do.

There is but I don't remember what it is called. I had it on my Nexus a few months ago. It is free and available in the Market. It may be called Creepy Crawly or something along those lines. Enjoy :)

I'm using bokeh rainbow (v.3). Looks nice and it is still easy to see icons/text.

I'm skeptical live wallpapers are significant battery killer. I have yet to see stats from someone who compared two essentially similar battery drains with ONLY live wallpaper being the difference and actually had a big increase with it off.

No, turning off live wallpapers and turning off mobile network always on and then noticing battery increase is NOT a valid mark against live wallpapers.

Keep in mind, they only run when you are looking at homescreens. Most app usage is fullscreen anyway.

I guess I'm a 50+ year old teenager because I like the moving water and the flowing blades of grass wallpapers, very soothing to the soul when I turn on my phone.

Also, don't let being 25 stop you from being a kid. Hopefully we're all kids at times.

Right on guys. +2

ummm.. live wallpapers might be cool but is this really a huge selling point? "Hey look my background moves.. wait so is my battery life.. down, down, down"

I just don't see how it brings any additional value to the phone, but I am not one to understand why people enjoy one-upping each other with purchases either - I mean if you made the damn phone yourself it would be a different story.

It does not have to be a one-up issue. I could give a damn what others think about my phone wallpaper or its capabilities. Those "mines-bigger-than-yours" games are tired.

Live wallpaper is a user interface option I currently enjoy using. If you gave me a list of features and allowed me to custom build a phone, I'd include it if it did not have negative impacts on performance/battery life.

I did this and turned of moblie/3g when not using 3g and it made my battery go from lasting 6 hrs to over 24 hrs.

I've left my live wallpapers and animations ON and just shut off the mobile network (still running wifi) and my battery has barely gone down in the past 24 hours. Before this, I couldn't get through the entire day.

Google Maps LW here - Live Wallpaper plus the occasional poll to update my location on the map. Still no battery issues. Moblie network and GPS are on.

I use a starfield live wallpaper I downloaded off the marketplace looks awesome still getting more then a day of battery and I don't notice any change in performance. It's a very sutle wallpaper not distracting but looks really nice

I'm using the Droid x live wp, its really cool and allows your to set fps to conserve battery. Plus it looks really cool.
