Help how not to wake phone with volume button ?

when i have the phone in my pocket and the volume buttons get pushed it wakes the phone screen up
Anyone know a way to make it not wake up with volume button pushes?

Where are you located and what carrier do you use? Is it a GSM or CDMA phone?

I have the Huawei Ascend but I want either the X5 or the X6 really bad! I'm not sure my carrier is going to get it here in the states but if they do I'm all over it! LOL

I use Telenor and Conviq.
Bought the phone unlocked and switch cards out between work and personal every 2 weeks cause of unlimited data on personal account.
GSM
 
Ohhh! Well, here in the states about half of us use CDMA networks, unlike the rest of the world who mostly uses GSM.

I'm hoping Huawei will release it in both versions. :)
 
I've never been to Stockholm. Hope it doesn't rain there as much as it does in Seattle! LOL

Do you mind if I ask you how much the X5 cost you (in US dollars)? I am just interested in knowing how expensive it's gonna be.

nope doesn't rain but snows a lot
cost 2100 sek so $331 by todays exchange rate.
Would probably be cheaper if locked to a carrier

Hey Kiljoy, since I also have to swipe to the right on the screen to unlock it, after "waking" it up with the volume or on/off button, I don't really see the problem. It turns black again after 10 seconds and imho it's bulletproof when it comes to accidentally unlocking it in a pocket or other scenarios...

The file you need to edit is "/system/build.prop" but make sure to backup first!

Change the following from "false" to "true" to enable key unlocking screen.
ro.config.hw_menu_unlockscreen=false
