Help How set up and how use voice dial ? Nothing working.

How set up and how use voice dial ? Nothing working.

Am I supposed to have some setting done on the google contact website ?
Is there some setting on the phone that I need to do ?

Here's what the HTC site says:

From the Dialer screen

1. From the Home screen, tap the Phone icon.
2. Tap on the microphone icon on the bottom-right part of the virtual device keypad.

When prompted to Speak now, speak your command (ex. <call> <amy><mobile>). If prompted, tap the correct option.

I saved my home ph. # under "dog".
I tap the phone icon.
I tap the microphone icon.

I say "call dog"
and I get a "voice search" list of "call dog; call dogs; call dawg", etc.
I select "call dog".
I select "call".
I get and "unknown" and "call has been lost"


What am I missing?
Can anyone offer some info on voice dialing on this EVO4GLte ?

Remove Call so if you want to call home tap the mic and say Dog select the one and then it should work. The "Call" gets added so there for "Call Home" is not a valid number but "Home" is. Hope this helps.

OK, made a call.
Here is a comparison between the procedure for Voice Dialing, and a Regular Call.

Try using a Bluetooth device. I have the Jawbone icon. When I long press and release the button on the back of the icon the phone says, "voice dialing, speak now". I say "call dog on mobile" and it " just works".
