How to Back Up

very nice, thanks... barcode scanner is very cool.

one more thing if i may -- the csv file is saved on the SD card, do i need to remove the card or can i mount my phone onto my computer via the usb cable and transfer the csv file?

Yes, you can transfer the file from the phone to the computer via USB cable.

Assuming you have Excel (or some other spreadsheet) on your computer the easiest and most human readable way to open a CSV file is that way.
Open Excel. Then File/Open and point excel to the CSV file. From that point follow the screen prompts.

there's no way to back up your settings is there? I am thinking about doing a full hard reset, but hate that I'll have to tweak everything again.

not that i know of, takes maybe 20 minutes to get back to where you were though (or to get back to where i was)

questtion regarding that -- whats a "HARD RESET" compared to a "battery pull" or selecting "return to factory defaults" (under settings)? what deletes all your data?

ok, so when i create a new contact on the phone, it should automatically sync it to my gmail account and add it as a contact there too right?

yes if you add it as a google contact and sync is enabled. otherwise you will have to manually sync it in your phones menu.

Does anybody know if reminder settings in google calendar will be saved on a hard reset? I know the appointments themselves will sync back up, but I have a lot of different reminder schedules set up for different types of appointments that I'd be really annoyed if I had to go back through and reset.

i think people are asking how do you manually sync "phone" contacts.

Do we have to go to each one that is labeled "phone" to google to back up
