sorry ya lol i use a diffrent package manager but eh that ones easy to use.

error 1 could be a few diffrent reasons /...

Yea I keep meaning to do a guide for building CM* but never get around to it lol.

How I do it is basically how the CM guide has it.

ya i was using the way i have built ics for the sgs2.. Sence its how i know how to do it..... BUt like u said theres no right or wrong way theres very diffrent ways Thanks for poping in!!!!

Nope not wubi, wubi is just to Cook roms and stuuf To dev u need Real ubuntu 64-bit Iso in a dvd or cd

Well the only problem with doing it with wubi is disk i/o may be a bit slower and I think there is a limit on the max size of the squashfs it uses. It's sort of like a bigger livecd.

Here's what i do.

1. Make sure I have my spare sdcard in my phone
2. Mount it and use Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3 | USB Pen Drive Linux to make it bootable.
3. Restart phone into recovery and mount usb storage(so it doesn't unmount when computer restarts)
4. Boot from usb device
5. ????
6. Profit.

But why would u wanna try that out with ur phone dont do that its has not point just Buy a cd or dvd and brun the iso there u got it

usb is fine for a install media, a fix it media, etc, other than that its useless. lol


Compiling CM9 takes alot of resources, esp if you dont want to be waiting for hours lol

Since I never have any blank cd's I assumed he was using wubi for the same reason I did before I got my phone. Sorry about that.

yea, wubi is good to see what nix is like n if you like enough to install it lol

Well, to be honest. I only really used wubi when I was lazy

Otherwise I would dd an iso to a partition and have grub boot it.
