Of course, the problem here is people like the OP who use 10GB while tethering. That really is taking the ****.
WTF? You pay for something that is meant to be unlimited you should get UNLIMITED! Its antsy pantsy attitudes like yours that allow 3 and the rest to get away with crap like this.
I have a NOTE 2, and I have downloaded on my phone in the past month over 15 GB worth of stuff, from games, to magazine files (at over 100mb per go - really Play store?) to watching Sky Sports......every single thing was legitimate and bought and paid for and used SOLELY on my phone. I pay for an Unlimited tariff so please explain to me how is this ANY different to someone tethering and using 10GB??
Is there a new type of data that is sprinkled with fairy dust and requires an extra special rainbow coloured airbourne channeling that I'm unaware of?
Stop making excuses for these lame arsed companies who see an opportunity to try and shaft their customers out of more money.
Cannot wait till the 4G rip off starts to really bite among users in the UK, around sept.......going off the excuses already being made the mobile networks will be reduced to being slower than dial up and it'll cost an arm and a leg to fix it. All because of the pesky folks who happen to use what they are paying for, or it'll be the fault of the file sharers, or the (add pathetic excuse here)
lets use and example:
restaurant buffets with unlimited food... you own the restaurant.
one man pays his $10 to get access to the unlimited buffet table.
3 friends come in with him, but don't pay.
the man keeps going back to the buffet table.. and getting food... brings it back to his table. where his 3 friends help him eat the food.
are you OK with this???
Stupid example. Most tethering is done by the person who has the device and NOT their mates!
But in any event, I wouldn't be stupid enough to run an offer that could be abused in the first place!
3, EE, O2, etc all advertise the use of their network for things like Netflix, iPlayer, etc etc. As I said above, I use my device to watch content. Sky sports app uses around 2gb a month, my magazine subs from the play store (Computer arts, a couple of pc mags and imaginefx, and and NOT playboy like the idiot above is prattling on about) all come in over 200mb each.
Samsung video hub offers users the ability to buy and download films which are between 1 and 2 gig.
The point is, the networks are selling top end smartphones, advertising all the wonderful things you can do with your smartphone, advertising all the wonderful things you can do on THEIR networks with your top end smartphones then having a fit because people are using them as advertised!
Then you get the apologist mob online who think the a smartphone should only be used to check Facebook and emails! Yeah, that's why I bought a Note 2!
Idiots. If it is NOT unlimited it should NOT be advertised as unlimited. IF you cannot use the device as it is being advertised it should NOT be advertised that it can do those things!
Simple.....
And one final point......IF the current setup is struggling to cope with usage I don't hold much hope for 4g!
Maybe these companies should spend a bit of their stockpiles of money upgrading their equipment!
You can tether on all our One Plan tariffs including our one month rolling SIM plan.
If you
still tethering (to lappy, Wii and other phones) with no problem unlimeted on 3 p&g with the 15qid add-.on
Forgive me if I'm wrong but you are boasting about tethering while under the assumption that nobody else can ?
The point is, your paying
No, Funky is correcting the statement in post #43 that you need the One Plan in order to tether a laptop.
Nope,
Lol i never boast (im a 38yr old man) and, as Slug said, i only pay
