They probably will soon but the major problem is that odin is still not ready for the ultra meaning people that are rooted will not be able to update yet.

true i think most people just update to get rid of those annoying notifacations you get sent every ten minutes...but some people in the prevail forums figured out ways to edit the bp to get them to stop...that way you have a choice to upgrade or not..instead of being beat into submission by the updates:D

Its not really that simple, if you delete the superuser app your phone will be vulnerable to some apps/commands that could brick your phone as it wouldnt need superuser acces rights because there is no superuser app installed. Think about it this way you cant root your phone just by grabbing the super user apk and installing it. your phone would still be unrooted reason is because you need special codes to unlock your phone completely then the superuser app is added at the end to give permission rights to apps and to keep your phone safe, you get what im saying. So if you delete the super user app your phone will still be unlock and could be vulnerable to some commands/apps.
 
Ok I gotcha, I was going on what interdepth said about deleting su to unroot but I see now that su is what stops everything from being allowed su permission.
 
the need for odin is when you brick a phone, most of the time you can get into download mode (wich is where odin can restore your phone)
cwm restores your phone from the recovery partition of your phone, wich many bricked phones can not boot into.

you can return your phone to unrooted stock if you had a fully unrooted stock imag/backup of your phone using cwm

yes basicly odin and cwm do the exact same thing... just diferent ways of doing it.

odin is better due to the fact almost all bricked phone can boot into download mode

Oh so just like a custom rom with root already done to gb ver 2 3 6? Well not a rom but os-right? Sorry just trying to learn. Between u and chev and smith and interdepth I swear I wouldn't know any thing. Thnks so much for yals patience. I hope my questions are helping other noobs out there too :-)

its cool bro..im still learning too...thats the only way youll learn is to ask...it is just a image of stock gb..2 3 6 is the os....no custom rom..pure stock..but its pre rooted and has cwm as a recovery system instead of stock recovery
 
Is there a way besides using adb to disable carrier iq? I am very inexperienced in using adb and want to try it on stock rom.
 
I am familiar but don't know any commands.
I will use the commands given in the first post to disable it. I'm just afraid of doing something wrong.

I have been fighting with the Mr ReeRom for a number of days now. Still shows that I have Ciq, kills the battery way too fast, keeps giving me constant Google talk authentication failures, sometimes kicks me off the internet, and a couple others. I switched back to Shevron ROM for the stability and that everything worked without failure. Sorry man, but until the quirks get gone, I can't use your ROM.

Even shevs rom has ciq its just disabled.. dunno if its disabled on mrree

Google talk authentication failures have happened for me on all roms... there is a simple fix posted on these forums.

Id need more info for your interweb connectivity issue and lemme know if I can help otherwise
