Root how to disable phone to only use wifi

I have a htc evo 4g. I do not have phone services on it, only using wifi. I see the battery usage for the call standby is using lot of battery. Is there a way that i can disable the phone part and just use the phone with wifi? the phone is using destroyer v2 rom. thx

Nope

You can put it on Airplane Mode and then just turn Wi-Fi on. That is what I do with my Sprint HTC Hero. :)

It still gets used as an Internet enabled Wi-Fi device even though I upgraded to a Sprint HTC EVO 3D several months ago. Your battery life should be better too. ;)

Try the above suggestion just don't use any program to try and remove or Freeze the Phone part of the ROM or it will through you into FC Hell. In which the only way out is battery pull and then flash rom again.(You still will need to do a complete set of wipes first)

I was not aware that was possible. Thanks!

PS: Heretic, I didn't know you upgraded to the 3vo, congrats! My wife is still rockin the Hero. I tried to get her to use the Wildhero Rom, but she didn't like it. She likes Liquid Sense tho. :D

Also good deal on making you a guide, you deserved the promotion! ;)
