Help How to fix android.process.acore?

I am using a SGS2 and can't access my contacts. A forum member suggested I clear the contact storage data. When I do that, the entire contact list disappears and I need to restore the current contact list again. Why does this happen and how to stop it from happening again? The problem was not there first week of owning the phone which leads to the suspicion that its an app which is causing this problem.

This is probably related to something specific to the SGS2. Moving to that forum to see if other owners can help.

Not everyone there is getting this error leading me to suspect this is an app based thing.
