Root How to fix bad battery life?

ok so before I rooted and flashed my first rom I have great battery life, I could get an antire day with more than moderate use. however after I flashed aosp I could only get 12 hrs maxunser the same conditions. with Aphrodite (that I flashed yesterday ) I have even worse battery life. I charged to 40% at 12 last night and in the morning (6am) I had about 5% left. is it the roms or am I missing something? I have already wiped battery stats and rebooted. the pic shows th amount of days in the top left corner, but I haven't owned the v that long. what's up with that?

Something is wrong with your battery meter. You should go into recovery, and format boot, system, data, and cache, then reflash your ROM (and gapps if needed).

Of course, backup with TitaniumBackup or MyBackup, and in recovery do a backup.
