How to fix MMS in CM10?

Yeah I'm probably gonna pull the VisualVoicemail apk from the jellybean VM build and have it copy it over to the ROM.

I built the ROM but when it was making the zip it errored out for some reason so Im going to have to look into it. But I have already changed the apns-conf.xml, I've got most of the build.prop to where it mimics our, I am actually having it overwrite the fingerprint as we speak, and I just recently changed the mms_config.xml in the Mms repo to match the one I pulled out of the PA Mms.apk just a little bit ago. So progress is being made I just got to get this build to where it actually finishes building lol!

If someone running the FL14 JB build already could upload the VisualVoicemail.apk, that would be sweet because I havent had the chance to flash the ROM yet!

If someone doesn't beat me to it, count on me sending it to you tonight after work. I run the FL14 build as my daily :)

Since FL14 is fully functional aside from the notification light bug, would it help to pull out stuff from the FL14 build for use with CM10? I don't know the last thing about rom building but I was just wondering if that was a good thought?

Potentially. I will have to see what all libraries they use from Samsung and which ones they compile from source. I believe dastin1015 went through and updated the libraries from one of the more recent sprint builds but I'm not sure which one it was. I'll have to look, but I will let you know if I need more files!

keep up the good work b_randon!

question, whats the diff between what you are working on and Jay Dogg's CM10?

This is a good question. Several things actually. Jay Dogg's CM10 is just a link pointing to the CM10 Beta 2 (4.1.2) ROM built by the EpicCM Team. It has no included MMS fix, and is technically a ROM for the Sprint Epic 4g Touch, even though this phone is hardware identical to the E4GT.

My project I am working on is first of all CM10.1, which if you don't know what that is, its CyanogenMod for the newer Jellybean 4.2.1 OS. I have forked my work off of dastin1015 and Team-Hydra's work, which there are releases of CM10.1 for the Epic4g Touch that one could flash now, and then apply some sort of MMS fix to it just like CM10, or PA or King Kang, etc.

Secondly, my project is going to directly include a MMS fix, and will be more branded for a Virgin Mobile Galaxy S2. I plan on keeping it up to date with the mainline CM10.1 repos, as well as the dastin1015/Team-Hydra repos, as most of the EpicCM team has stopped working on the CM & other AOSP ROMS. That's why CM10 is only at beta 2 and hasn't been updated in quite some time.

My hope with all this is to be able to build CM10.1, CM10, and maybe even CM9 for our phone, as well as Paranoid Android, AOKP, possibly PACman and King Kang as well if I can track down what sources they were using, and implement the MMS fixes to them and brand them to our Virgin Mobile phone, so that we have built from source ROMs more suited for our phone. Then I can start working on fixing the bugs, which as of right now I don't think there are many issues even with CM10.1 and even less with CM10 and CM9!!

Hopefully that answers your question!

Hey b_ranon, I just have to say WOW and THANK YOU SO MUCH!

bROM for the triumph was awesome, and you helped make many strides for the triumph dev community. Thanks for your continued work on ROMs for the community. A some "official" virgin ROMs for this phone would be amazing.

Thanks again, can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thank you very much. My intention is to once I get some stable builds up, I want to start pulling in commits from the cm gerrit that haven't quite made it into the mainline cm source tree. You can usually find alot of neat mods and optimizations there.

And if I recall the CM10.1 on the E4GT had some mic issues and volume issues so I would like to look into those as well unless dastin1015 and team-hydra beat me to it!

Thanks for the support everyone!

Will this mms fix work on the sprint Rom GA 10 jelly bean? From the epic 4g touch thread.

Should just have to go into the ##data# programming menu and edit the mmscurl. There us a thread in the boost forum foe getting MMS to work on the sprint roychwiz ROMs.

But no this fix won't work at all!
