Help How to fix the creaking?

I know this is a common problem for the HTC incredible, however, I was curious if there was any sort of fix or solution that people have discovered?

People have mentioned the battery door, but mine doesn't seem to be the door, it happens with the bat cover off.

Sorry no solution here, I do have the silicon case on it now and don't notice it

Creaking? Common problem?

I have no problem with mine and suspect the vast majority of people that have the HI do not have the issue. What is the creaking problem?

My battery door seems to creak when squeezed at the bottom. It's rather annoying. I've heard of quite a few other Dinc owners that have the same problem.

If you squeeze a certain part of the phone (in the middle usually) the battery door creeks, yes.. If it bothers you STOP SQUEEZING IT THERE! lol.. Or, if you're anal, maybe take a couple pieces (very small, duh) of cardboard and stick them between the case and the back as you're putting the cover on. Tight fit, yes, but it may take care of your OCD..

All I do is pick up my phone and it creaks against my hand. I'm not squeezing it there on purpose. I'm squeezing it there to hold on to lol.

I put some strips of red electrical tape on the battery to stop it from creaking there but it does occasionally creak down by the Google logo

I sat here for a few minutes and couldn't get mine to creak unless I pushed on it in very specific ways that required both hands while holding it to my ear to hear it creak. I can't recall a time where I used both hands to hold a phone up to my ear....

Ok, clearly this is only affecting some phones.

I'm just saying when I pick up the phone like anyone else does, it creaks.

I don't know why people are being assholes to me when all I wanted to know was if there was a fix to the problem.

The battery cover is so flimsy and due to the raised areas on the cover this thing will continue to creak in various places. The 1st one I had creaked right above the volume rocker and down by the Google logo as well as the center

There is a simple fix to the creak :D

Don't press there

This is the cheap feeling comments I think we were hearing about when it got reviewed. Although I don't think it is cheap feeling overall the creaking cheap battery cover certainty makes it feel that way.

I had the the side creak which was solved by replacing the stock battery with a 1500 mah battery. However, it diverts the creak to the bottom by the google logo.

The side creak drove me crazy since it was right where you grip the phone 90% of the time. The bottom creak doesn't bother me too much since its in a position I don't grip often and I basically have to make it creak...

Hello,
There is already another thread on this... http://androidforums.com/htc-incredible/78452-squeaky-plastic.html

I suggest a fix by placing scotch tape on the inside cover edges. I posted a pic in the other thread but here it is again. This is how i got my phone to stop creaking. Maybe it works for you too, give it a try!
